(◠‿◠) Just going to toss my selfie here because I love my Rilakkumas & Korilakkumas very much (yes, plural)
Despite all the chaos going around with the whole COVID-19 situation, I am going to list some of the little things I am grateful for to keep myself feeling positive
◕ ‿ ◕
Yoga and meditation
City lights from a high rise in Irvine
Dusty Harry Potter books borrowed from the university library
Evening drives by myself or with good company
Soft warm blankets wrapped around me while listening to lofi music
Eating strawberries while watching Netflix
Scented candles flickering in the dark
Animal Crossing with friends until 5 in the morning
Skincare routine
Teavana’s Jade Citrus Mint
And many more I can not think of at the top of my head at the moment (゚ヮ゚)
I'm a little confused, I think maybe the kinds of contemporary service I've been too are different from what you're talking about? The ones I know are things like "We wrote a jazz-style liturgy" or "We replaced the hymns with thematically appropriate alt-rock songs." it's still ultimately the same service with a different soundtrack.
Typically I am referring to “contemporary worship” as the application of modern culture into the structure of a service. So a band up front that plays positive popular-type songs & resembles more of a concert/TED talk than anything else.
I call anything else that is not “contemporary” but not “traditional” under the broader branch of “informal.” I would consider a “Jazz-Style Liturgy” as an “informal” service.
