the truth is, i wandered among the stars waiting for someone to call me home until they reached up, desperate to call me back - wandering hands and wandering hearts.

it’s funny, the word “wander”, to wonder, to wander, because I wonder and I wander all the time - to wander is not to know where you are going, it’s to take your time, it’s to explore the boundless wide boundary instead of shooting straight For the finish line - and I wander all the time because I get lost. i get lost in the silence of the sunset and the scudding budding clouds and the red-yellow-BLUE of the late days and early nights - over empty roofs and into abandoned streets only picked up by the faintest honks of rush hour traffic three streets over - or a few scuffed men racing trolleys.

i get lost all the time while looking like i’m purposeful. i’ve gotten lost now for ten years in a row.
