John actually shoots Charles in the mouth/jaw during the dual, causing Charles to be severally injured, unable to talk, and have difficulty eating and drinking. John's punishment is having to take care of him until he's able to live by himself without aid

John is still bitter about what Charles said and did and Charles is angry at john for disabling him. So they both struggle to exist in the same house.

Slow burn, they eventually develope feelings for each others, but they both deny those feels to hell.

I just want a nice ending where Charles relearns how to speak so he can tell john that he loves him out loud
