For decades, the global motorcycle industry bowed only to the prestige of the “Big Four” Japanese manufacturers and a select group of legendary European marques. That rigid landscape is dissolving, driven by massive infrastructure, relentless engineering, and a strategic acquisition of heritage. The entity leading this dramatic shift is Qianjiang Motorcycle Co. Ltd., known globally as…

Happy Weekend I hope you are well. This is part two of the trailer post following yesterday’s opener. This week, I posted a news article about the release of Zokki and I also posted a great interview with the filmmaker Daisuke Miyazaki. It has been a low-energy week/year for me but I do have more in the pipeline. One thing I will write about is the free films that are currently on offer with the…

that scathach/skadi post from bitterrosebrokenspear had me thinking back to airgetlamhh‘s lb2 wrap-up where they talked about the (failed) overarching theme of love. i think that’s accurate and i agree that lb2 is a bad story because of that, but i wonder if there’s actually any absolution for skadi. i think that the vessel that introduces us to skadi (ophelia) makes her seem like a lot more than she is. before we actually meet her there’s that narrative that the big bad skadi can do all these big bad things and then she just...can’t. and airgetlamhh saw that as a failing, but i do wonder.
you can see that skadi is so desperately clinging onto the past, onto the remnants of what was. the age of gods has ended and yet she lives. she hides away in her castle and pretends that as the last remaining god that’s she’s almighty; but she isn’t. the only thing left for her is to rot. the only left for her was to be pruned away by the world.
brokenspear’s post talked about skadi’s meddling nature, that scathach’s sort of rejected humanity and instead chose the path of the warrior, which makes it impossible for her to act like a regular human. and so then i look at skadi and her cruelty towards the last vestiges of humanity veiled so thinly by her decrees of kindness and i just wonder if there wasn’t such a good story wanting to get out. i wonder if the nature of those two wasn’t something that could’ve been discussed. at all. to kind of...help make sense of what she was doing there.
thus always to tyrants......
