James Ginzburg and Paul Purgas make up the electronic duo, Emptyset.  Ginzburg runs the labels Subtext and Arc Light Editions and has remixed music for FaintWildLight, Ginz and Bleed Turquoise.  Purgas founded the We Elude Control label, and, as an artist, writer and curator has presented projects with Tate, Whitechapel and Serpentine Galleries.  Their latest album, Borders, came out on Thrill Jockey in January.  We’ll have a review up shortly, meanwhile here’s a collection of books, music, instruments, performances and one mathematician who are important to these two artists.
