I was once at a talk about Emmy Noether being given by a guy who had written a book about her and he showed some of the letters she had written to other mathematicians and he was like "haha isn't her handwriting terrible, who could possibly read that" and it was perfectly average legible Sütterlinschrift, the same kind of handwriting I'm sure was being used in the letters those other (male) mathematicians would have been writing back to her. And I was just thinking, way to completely ruin your credibility dude, like either you're a dumbass who doesn't know that this is exactly what everyone's handwriting would have looked like at that time and place, or you know that and you're intentionally lying to make it sound like this woman had bad handwriting. Like. What??
