why does this toad have a saddle.

So the tiny fae folks can mount their steeds and ride to battle, toothpicks raised and war cries boisterous (albeit squeaky).

That, or this is the Kiau Borneo frog and what you're seeing is the result of many, many, many, years of adaptation to live in their native environment.

Speaking of environment, these guys are super stinking cool because they're only found in one place; Borneo Island, the third largest island in the world (which is also home to Mount Kinabalu, the highest mountain in Malaysia & Maritime Southeast Asia). Habitat wise, they live in mountainous areas. Montane forests, if you want to get specific, which are forests that exist on slopes of mountains. Though because the Kiau Borneo frog is in a tropical area, those forests usually grow on saddles in mountains (dips in the ground between mountains, moisture settles there more effectively and boom, growth!). Still a slope, just a different flavour of slope.

The Kiau Borneo frog also reaaaaally likes to hang out in streams. Little rocky mountain streams are their bread and butter. Which looks a lot like this!

See how rocky and mossy that area is? Now go back up and look at our lil froggy friend. He'd blend in quite well, yes? Looking like a lumpy little mossy rock helps these buddies not get monched & cronched by other predators.

So, best guess is either the tiny fae folk selectively bred frogs until they achieved a frog with the ideal saddle shape for maximum murdering while mounted on their brave but uncomfortably sticky steed OR to minimize getting munched their physique helps them blend into their environment.

Personally I'd go with the first option.

(Obligatory mention that I am not a batrachologist, I just really like frogs. Take what I say with a grain of salt and always do your own research.)

A small take I have regarding TDM.

I do not care for Mônica x Cebolinha. There I said it!

I know it’s a canon ship and all but honestly, they just work better as two rivals. This is just my opinion and if you ship them, that’s fine.

I just like Mônica x Do Contra better. (If you couldn’t tell from my past posts.) And making rarepairs is fun.

Okay Okay - I can see Joshu being super flattered about an insane fangirl - he'd also get super cocky about it

First and foremost! He'd be excited to find someone else who would be willing to go out and do things with him

I feel like he is the type to want to do a lot of cheesy things in public together (face painting at the fair) - he wants someone who wants him and is not afraid or embarrassed to show it

You could not scare this boy off if you tried! Fr he will strive to out-insane you at every turn - oh you have a shrine of his photos in your closet? He has a box with little things he's taken from your house (including some of your hair from when you were asleep)

Equally as obsessed with you right away - the type to get your name tattoo'd on him within a month of dating (likely on his chest or somewhere he could easily show it off)

Is offended if you do not suggest every couple instagram/tiktok trend as a couples activity

He knows you will stalk him/creep outside his room at night so he keeps his curtains open for you (how chivalrous)

Definitely brags about you to Yasuho and Gappy (to everyone really) - but he does not care at all if they get jealous or have any reaction - he's just happy to have a fan and to be able to talk about you

Also calls you his fan instead of his girlfriend - forever
