I have to admit I didn't read all the food discourse (tm) but like one thing I read just rubbed me so wrong... can't afford to cook? I'm a broke student in this fucking city and I still cook all the time.. can't afford to cook???? what even is the usa (imagine living in a world without self made meals... I want to cry, no really... this sounds so sad)

That's the thing tho, over there fresh produce and shit is apparently stupidly expensive while the ready-made shit's cheap?? It's weird.

Oh gosh.. I was at an alumni thing at my old school with some friends and classmates and my old tutor was there and offered us the 'du' and we all just looked at each other with a big 'error - does not compute' on our foreheads

It. just. doesn’t. work. I mean even one of my youngest teachers offering me to call her ‘Anja’...it just didn’t work. And we’ll have our 5 years after reunion (god I’m old) in a few months and it’s going to be a mess.

Omg what you're saying about american bread is so true! I can't stand it, I only lived there for a year but as a german, that "bread" was traumatizing for me.

On the plus side it makes a great bread pudding :)

Ich glaub der Mormonen Hype ist zum Teil auch dem Musical geschuldet (Book of Mormon), in Hamburg haben die auch ne Kirche, hab da in der Nähe mal ne Zeit gewohnt xD

Ich wusste bis vor ein paar Jahren nicht mal, dass Mormonen existieren, können die sich mal alle wieder einkriegen? Find vor allem den gedanklichen Sprung von Polyam zu Mormonen beeindruckend.

I um have too many tbh, like HP obviously and the Artemis Fowl series, the Ink Heart series, the Sherlock Holmes novels and stories, ... My most recent/newest one is Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman though, like oh my god I can’t believe I didn’t read this earlier it’s SO good! :)

❤️ - do you have a crush right now?

Haaa oh man I’m not even sure anymore at this point, there’s this girl uni who’s really really cool and smart and I admire her a lot, but I’m not sure if it’s a proper crush, I don’t know if I know her well enough for that and there’s no chance in hell of her liking me back, so it doesn’t even matter but yeah. :’) Also do Tumblr crushes count, because shout out @ Pun-Non. :’) <3

🐞 - are you a superstitious person?

I guess a bit; like I have nothing against black cats and stuff like that or take those post where it’s like “If you don’t reblog this, this and that will happen” seriously, but since the emoji for this is a lady bug, yeah I kind of believe in lucky charms, they’re just nice. The tax thing is true and a fucking pain in the ass. No one explained it to me, so the first time it did some shopping in the US I was SO confused when my total was way off from what I had estimated while browsing the store, I thought I had completely lost my ability to add up numbers xD
