If you think a young kid growing up a Ranger fan in the '70s wouldn't love a guy named Toby who made eye black look unbelievably cool, you'd be wrong. Toby Harrah was easy to root for, and like several other franchise bests on this list, he gave Ranger fans multiple chances to cheer for him, spending time in Arlington over two separate periods. He first played for the Rangers from 1972 to 1978, having come over with the Washington Senators. After being traded to Cleveland, he returned to the Rangers in 1985 and would play for them through the following season. Harrah also paved the way for Michael Young's career jaunt around the infield, playing at shortstop, third base and second base over his own career with the team. He is high on a number of all time lists for the Rangers, including sixth in games played (1355), seventh in total hits (1174), eighth in RBI (568), second in walks (708) and third in stolen bases (153). Harrah's best year as a Ranger came in 1975 when he batted .293, drove in 93 runs, hit 20 home runs and stole 23 bases. The performance earned him his second of three All Star appearances as a Ranger as well as the Rangers' Player of the Year Award.

It looks like the Tigers aren't just going to have Lloyd McClendon helping the Tigers with their hitting. Toby Harrah, a four-time All-Star and former player for The Washington Senators/Texas Rangers, Cleveland Indians, and New York Yankees, will be with the Tigers team off and on throughout the rest of the season, to work with the Tigers hitting aspects, lending McClendon a hand. The Tigers offense has been struggling this season, and Jim Leyland hopes the Texas Hall of Famer can help send some flare into his lineup's swings. Whether or not he'll stick around for a more permanent timetable is still up in the air, but the Tigers Manager is thankful that he'll be around at all, even if it is for a temporary time this season.
