Bar Redux Presents Toby O'Brien// Jonathan Tankel

Toby O’Brien is a New Orleans based singer-songwriter and actor. Originally from Richmond, Va., Toby began writing music at 13 with most of his lyrics involving the anguish of the catholic school he was sent to. Having drawn inspiration from bands Modest Mouse and the Pixies and writers like Elliott Smith and Bob Dylan, Toby blends a mixture of folk singing with aggressive guitar playing and harmonic bends.

Bar Redux Presents Music & Poetry Music & Poetry is a showcase of live music with fiction and poetry readings each month, on First Thursdays. This month features music with Guest Host, Toby O'Brien and spoken word & poetry readings by Kataalyst Alcindor, Christopher Hefferman, Briana Augustus, Amanda Emily Smith, Toby O'Brien, and Russ Mercado.
