Today's run location // 12. 11. 21
15/02/2017 // Today’s run. I am very proud of myself, because I ran a better time than last week. Now I want to stick to this time for another session and then develop from here.
Important: Never ever skip warm up and cool down. Even if your workout is brief. Your joint and muscles need to get ready for the exercise and need time to cool down and let go off the work by stretching. For me the park is a 3-minute walk and sometimes I do some warm-up exercises plus when I come home I stretch. Today I did some post-run yoga, you can find several videos on youtube. This one is one of my favourites:

I do post-run yoga when I worked hard and feel that my muscles are tighter than usual. :)
Have an active day!
26/10/2016 // I haven’t been to run in a loooong time. Today I had to give it a try because next week my brother will be here visiting and I will not have the choice to work out in the apartment, it’ll be too crowded. Unfortunately I have a bad habit to breather through my mouth during running and it is not a big deal most of the year but it’s getting colder each day and actually I have to practise to breathe through my mouth to avoid getting a cold or burning my lungs... So it was a bit tricky today and cannot say that it felt comfortable but I managed to achieve what I wanted. Next week will be full of running not to disturb the men at home. :) I had a banana-pear milkshake for breakfast with cinnamon to help the metabolism kick in, a plain tea and a cappuccino with little cocoa on top. Now back to my Dutch studies, the exam is tonight...yikes!
So it's Monday and every Monday, Wednesday and Friday is run day for me. Before the military I hated running always did but when you have lazy training stuff who can't think of another workout for you to do almost everyday you run...a lot! I hated being told how fast to run but after a while when I took myself for a run I remembered how proud I felt afterwards thinking "wow I survived that!" So now running is my go to exercise for enjoyment and results. Thank you Military! That's just what I think
Someone give me the highest of fives!
I broke the 5k mark today in training. I’ve come close before (4.7km and then I’ve just added the fact that I walk a few hundred metres to and from my running spot so it came up to around 5k) but I’ve never actually hit 5km during my training session.
My actual distance was 3.31 miles (5.32km) in less than 50 minutes.
My goal is to get to 5k in less than 40 minutes by August and I think that’s achievable.
As for right now, my ears are ringing, I feel like I need to down a litre of water, and I really need a shower and to do my laundry so I can start packing.
Went on an easy three mile trail run and ran into my old teammate on the path. I miss the old days of cross country and talking to the girls for hours
19:16 - Fastest lap 11: 24 (not good enough)
