This is my first post but I could not get this idea out of my mind, so here it is. ( Sorry for any spelling and grammar mistakes ahead of time )
I love the owl house, but I think we need to talk about the effects of the show on queer media in the future. While in the past other showrunners have had small victories of queer couples in the background or the title queer couple getting together at the very end. Shows like She-ra having Catra and Adora get together at the end or Gravity Falls with queer couples not having a center stage left the queer community only wanting more. But with the owl house and Dana terrace fighting for queer representation ( not only sexuality but also gender queerness) to be in her show and have a prevalent role within her show proves the fact that queer shows or shows with queer characters can be massively effective. The show did remarkably well despite it being cut short it was able to provide a place for many people within the queer community to have a voice and be depicted within the media, and show how it show that has good queer representation in it can be a massive success which can pave the way for future shows to be able to have actually good queer representation within it. Now the next time Netflix tries to cancel a show just because it has a WLW couple in it they will have to think twice or the show runners can bite back with well the owl house did so well we can obviously do that good too. This not only helps normalize queerness in general like seeing that the more people see representation on screen the more normalized it becomes in the home and politics. ( Here is an article by a professor about my last statement: https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/psychology-the-people/202112/why-representation-matters-and-why-it-s-still-not-enough )
So please rewatch the owl house on Disney bc you are showing your support for queer show and thank you Dana for the owl house. It truly means the most for so many people and to me as well.
