and I have an idea for a platonic ask(if you wonder why my asks are platonic I'm ace and non binary) but here it goes human reader jamming on guitar at hexside and reader is luz friend and raine is there for a visit they hear readers music and decide to come listen
I relate to raine a lot I like my music but get nervous playing in front of people
Raine didn't hate people per se despite what others said. They were just... Less tolerant of people than others. An introvert had their own skills and as a talented musician their skills showed. Just not always on stage. Besides as a spy it was better not to be seen, simply heard. A small suggestion here or there. A plan sabotaged every now and than.
"Now where is that classroom? Hexsides moved some things around." Raine hums to themselves as they wander down the schools hallways. They smile remembering fond memories of their Hexside days.
Eda and Raine had re-established contact and we're now in a much more open and honest relationship. It had been hard to hear about Edas struggles with her identity and self and how much pain the Owl Lady had gone through alone but Raine thought their relationship was better for it. It also explained a lot of Raines unanswered questions which left them relieved. Eda had asked Raine to keep an eye on her protege Luz as they were assigned to do check ups for the Emperor anyways. He had decided to send a coven head to check on the school since it went relatively untouched. As Raine checked the doors number they looked for the mischevious human (Eda's unofficial adopted child) believing formally introducing themselves was needed. The school was one of the only place Belos didn't have spies (well Raine was the spy but they were a double spy so does a spy not spying cross the spy out?) so Raine wasn't concerned on getting caught. After all they were a welcomed guest since they were an alumni and Principal Bump knew of the rebellion being apart of it himself. He was glad Raine was giving the updates to Belos and not another coven head who may mention their new mixed tracts policy.
"Interesting Eda never mentioned music..." Raine mused to themselves as they listened to a powerful song being played. It was coming from down the hall in the room Eda said Luz would be in. As each chord was played it struck an emotion Raine didnt realize they were feeling. Memories flooding their head as the music washed over them.
Raine smiled softly beginning to hum along as the music got louder. Raine was never told that Edas apprentice was also a master of the arts. Eda had mentioned a drawing or two in passing as well as the occasional story Luz gave her as a gift but not any musical talent. As something soft and melodious filled their ears they were drawn closer to the classroom, enthralled by the sound. And there Luz was but she wasn't the one playing.
Looking up adjusting their glasses as they leaned against the doorway Raine was surprised to see you with Luz as it was technically after hours. You were a Hexside Student wearing multiple magic tract colors but the main one being red.
A fellow bard.
That made more sense. You were simply Luzes friend. A multi tract one at that.
"Oh Raine! Hi... your here!" Luz says surprised as she begins stumbling over her words and blushing. She waves excited and you get a bit distracted but play on almost done with the song. Raine recognizing the ending chords to this piece.
"Luz." Raine greets with a chuckle before they turn to you. You smile at them clutching your guitar close and Raine wishes you'd play something else as the song comes to an end. How have they not heard of you before? They may have stage fright but they kept up with all the other performers in the Boiling Ilses and as head bard it was their duty to know the up and coming music proteges. Obviously they didn't want you to join the coven as covens were dangerous and lies made up by Belos but regardless they should know you, your musical talent not going unnoticed. "Who's your friend?" Raine questions trying not to be too awkward as they observed the wide eyed student with curiosity.
"Oh them? Ummm that's..." The person slides off the desk they were sitting on and the instrument they were playing disappears in a puff of red smoke. They shyly walk up to Raine and hold out their hand with a nervous smile.
"Hello Bard Coven head. (Y/N). (Y/N) (L/N)." They state with a bit of confidence as they swallow nervously. Raine smiles back at them and taking their hand they shake it gently before they do a little bow.
"Raine. Raine Whispers. Head of the Bard Coven but please don't be so formal, just call me Raine." They instruct never liking the sound of Head bard simply taking the job to stop Belos from the inside. "You my dear have a talent." Your face heats up and Raine sends you a playful wink before they turn to Luz. "Luz I need to speak to you privatley. But (Y/N)... I'd like to keep in touch." They explain and you nod eyes wide at the possibility of being noticed by the Head Bard of the Covens system.
As you leave to wait outside you summon your guitar and hold it close making Raine smiles. The Owl Lady was always introducing them to the most interesting people.
