With New Years coming up, the thought of celebrations is on the mind! And naturally, the thought of how ocs have spent various in-game parties themselves!
How has your own commander and their team reacted to celebrations and parties such as the Galla attended for queen jenna, the celebration post-Balthazar’s defeat, or even the party when Zhaitan was defeated?
I’ll put my own below the cut!
Laighe: initially she attended these sorts of things with enthusiasm and lovely gowns that befitted her important status. As time wore on though, the outfits changed to suits and similar gear of more “practicality” but still a respectable look. Her attitude changed further though, where she started bubbly and social, she now keeps to herself unless directly addressed and gives an aura of intimidation.
Matthias: always a nice suit and a charming smile for everyone, polite conversation and witty remarks. He’s got a very carefully built delicate facade to keep up after all.
Vuisce: has not been invited to any parties rip
Tojoll: she dresses completely casually, not really a dressup kinda gal! She’s rather spend the money on dresses/suits for her girlfriends who want to accompany her anyways! She’s boistrous and tends to hang out wherever the most fun is being had currently, or she’ll stir up some fun herself.
Taomesin: dressed perfectly, no room for error, but always in regal armor of sorts. Fancy and handsome, but also able to serve the purpose of battle if anything arises. They’re politely quiet and avoid conversation along with sticking to teammates rather than strangers. Those who know them well, of which there are so very few, would be able to note that they do not enjoy these parties at all. They skip any they can get away with skipping.
Kai: full armor or dressed down to leather armor, depending on the party. She won’t avoid conversation but she makes for blunt interactions and can so easily come off as rude. Can be found usually by the snack table with Caithe or other teammates.
Joel: always can be counted on to be wearing a show stopping number, be it a dress or suit, usually with some small adornment to match on its smokescale it never leaves behind. It grew up with almost nothing and it’s gonna play a hell of a dressup game thank you very much! Hair’s always done up in a way that shows off the scars streaking half it’s face. And while it isn’t huge on conversation, it won’t shy away and will absolutely speak its mind whether that makes you comfortable or not.
I’ve seen picrew fun going around with peoples’ characters, but the popular option just didn’t have features that applied to most of my commanders. So, I looked around and stumbled onto a few that I ended up having a lot of fun with! Making drinks that really represent each of my eight commanders✨
In order we have: Laighe, Matthias, Kai, Joel, Vuisce, Tojoll, Taomesin, and Roibird
Martini, rum, tea if you fiddle with these too, tag me so I can see!
You've been visited by the random OC question fairy! :D ~☆
How easy is it for your character to feel fear? What’s usually a good tip-off that they’re experiencing this emotion? (Physical reactions, movements of appendages, etc.)
Well hey there again! Nice to see you’re still around and kickin! I’ll do the commander lineup for this one, running through everyone would take ages lol
Laighe: at this point not much strikes fear into her. But if anything directly threatened her little family, she would be terrified. And anyone who knows her well would see it because she would buckle down and force the person in danger off the battle field while planning on running in solo. She can’t lose anyone else to a threat she has to handle.
Kai: it’s easy for her to feel fear, and she knows that’s been all that’s kept her on edge enough to survive at times. But she also knows how to push past that fear and do what she has to. Her fear is almost imperceptible, but just listen for a fast paced tapping. She can’t keep her claws still on her weapons when she’s afraid.
Joel: it just shuts down. Fear isn’t a wholely common experience for Joel these days, especially with being virtually immortal, but it’s headspace is such a weak point for it. The icebrood saga shit really gets to it, there’s an open door in its head that it can’t control since HoT. And the only way it can even try to defend that is to lock hard into its main body and close off until it thinks the threat has passed.
Matthias: oh man so much scares him, his entire life is built on a series of lies and a very carefully crafted persona over himself. But having that persona also keeps his fear well hidden. He doesn’t have a single tell as far as most people know. Though Aildyn ( @ascalonianpicnic ) has seen him alone with his walls down, tired and himself. And they know that fear holds a lot of tension in his body, like a cornered animal deciding if he can run or he has to bite.
Taomesin: they don’t experience fear these days at all. They used to, but now? Now they’re just calm. They do their job. They’re going to get hurt anyways, who feel fear when they need to just get this done.
Tojoll: not much fear here, but not for a lack of being able to feel it! She’s just immensely confident and has yet to actually face an enemy that can truly best her. She hasn’t lost anyone, hasn’t lost to anyone either, she’s just chill as fuck~
Vuisce: they’ve done the calculations, checked for every contingency, they truly are confident in what they do. But that still doesn’t stop that trickle of fear every time it comes down to making their move. What if it fails, what if it goes wrong this time, what if the measurements are off? People can see they’re nervous, they keep muttering to themself. Still going over every possible variable in their head looking for any hole they missed. It’s terrifying until success is assured.
Roibird: the world doesn’t scare him much. He’s happy to be out and adventuring and helping save people. But he can’t do that without the physical aids he built and maintains for his deteriorating body. It’s not the world that scares him, it’s how far things will go before either a way to halt the progress of his disease is found or he can’t move at all. It’s easy to tell when he’s had a particularly difficult day, he can be found checking his joint movement every chance he has, double and triple checking his prosthetic aids are all functioning and that he can at least...somewhat still move his own limbs
OC question time, if you would like! For whoever you'd like to chat about.
Let's say your OC encounters someone who is keeping hold of a powerful weapon/artifact that could really help whatever problem they are trying to solve. The other party is keeping it purely for sentimental reasons and isn't aware of what it could do. Would your OC try to convince them to part with it, steal it, or let them have it and find something else?

Ooooh thanks for this question! I’ll put up my usual default oc list for this, the many Commanders I’ve got~
Laighe: She would absolutely try to find something else, but she knows too well the necessity of specifics. And if necessary...she would try to make a deal.
Tojoll: Make a deal for sure to convince the group to part with it! Advantages keep more people safe.
Joel: It would try to get the group to part with the item but would steal if necessary. They’ll bring it back after though if it can!
Matthias: Try to convince the group to part with it. It’s regrettable, but necessary and he knows he can.
Taomesin: Steal it. It’s an advantageous item and they’re not good with words at all. They have a responsibility here
Vuisce: Find something else! There’s always another way, a different option. Their entire plot can attest to that!
Kai: Convince the group to hand it over. By force if it comes to it. She would regret the action and bring the item back later, but she knows the need for keeping the high ground when she can.
Roibird: He would absolutely find an alternative! Inventive gal with an inventive crew? Anything’s possible surely
Call technically not a commander yet but...she will be: Talk the group into handing it over, but also looking into alternatives. Covering her bases where possible.
None of them really! She’s always sure she’ll come out on top. And so far she has with no casualties so why start worrying now~
20. Can anyone calm your commander down, no matter what? If yes, who and why?
Any of her girlfriends, or her parents! She’s got a wide support group of people she genuinely trusts and cares deeply for. Simply spending time with any of them sets her mind at ease. With wonderful people, how can things not work out?
The big gal!✨ oof I’ve talked about her a lot on request, what haven’t I said yet...
While her mind does really lend well to the STEM fields, she still respects them well enough. After all Taimi has been an invaluable ally and friend as have Gorrik and his brother.
When she wants some down time spent simply listening rather than engaging she can sometimes be found down in the labs, sitting on a couple unneeded boxes watching Taimi and her Krew with. She doesn’t understand most of what’s talked about, but doesn’t mind. It’s clearly important work and it’s wonderful to see those who excel at it flourish in this environment.
