42. what's your favorite title that you've come up with?
my favorite title is "taking your time and making it mine" :]
68. are there any fics that influenced you to write the way you do?
yes, actually! quite a few, many of which are on A03, and another few on Wattpad :]
though, rather than the fics, i'll tell you the authors, because it wasn't just their writing :]
some of the biggest influences were kohaikarma, though they deleted all their fics [RIP angel cross fic], carelesscreativity with their circus and ghost stories fics, purplefluffball with their amazing crossmare fics, kasbaska, acidgreenflames, abomination_x, flamango_55, gleae, eternallaughter, myoukin, theanonymouskitten, thetexanauthor
some of those people, i don't read their stuff anymore, but their names are just kinda in my memories now because i honestly respect them so much :]
especially theanonymouskitten. i respected them very much, and i still do! it was so fucking cool, seeing them start fic after fic, and they just kept trying and even though all but one of those fics were never finished, the fact that they still tried, and did a wonderful job each time? i know that they probably see those incomplete fics and think that they failed, but they didn't, not really, because those stories were amazing, the ideas were awesome as fuck, and i honestly wish them the best; what was inspiring about them was just, the fact that they kept trying, and posting things despite the fact that they weren't anywhere near done with the others
one favorite of theirs is it begins with a death; guess where i got the inspiration for pirates :]c
and revolutions!! i think that's one of the first fics where i read about kross
another special mention is eternallaughter; they inspired me with their dedication to their creepypasta series. now here's the thing, right? i'm not even in the fandom, and i don't think i ever was, but the fucking way they wrote the first two books in their trilogy [which is still ongoing!!] was so fucking good. i go back and reread those fuckin masterpieces so fucking often
not only did their kickass writing influence mine, but the sheer dedication. the first book was from Jan 2013 to Aug 2014 with 82 parts, the second book was from Aug 2014 to Dec 2016 with 77 parts, and the third book, still ongoing, began in Feb 2017 and the most recent chapter was on Aug 19, 2022, and there is 57 parts. Now let me tell you, when i say that this is some of the sickest fucking writing I've ever read, regardless of what fandom it is, i mean it
the plot is so fucking complex, and so well thought out, and the original characters are so god damn cool; one of the biggest lessons i took away from their writing is that there's no such thing as an overly cliche trope, or an overused idea. because this writer, they took some of those 'cliches' and overused ideas and made it brand new
that's why i think originality is kinda overrated; you could make something, and it's the same idea everyone else has made, but who knows; maybe the way you write it could be what makes that cliche worth the time it takes to read it :]
if there are any creepypasta fans, i really encourage you to read the series; it may not have the ships you like, but i promise, it's fucking worth it, like, the chapters are long as fuck, the plot is so fucking good, and i myself am rereading it currently. the characterization, the action, the fighting, ohhh that little trilogy there made my little broken 13 year old heart want to fucking soar
i can't recommend it enough.
another writer is purple fluffball! now they are another name forever there, and they have crossmare fics like no other [well, kohaikarma's fics were fuckin baller]. they also have some driller fics, and let me tell you, some of those oneshots are so good
i personally enjoy their alien nightmare fics, and the soulmates series. another one that i think is quite popular is the Against the odds crossmare fic, a hungergames based story :]
their writing was just, such goals, so god damn good
the final author i'll mention before i move on, is writerbugg44. now i don't recall enough of their fics to say what exactly it was that i loved about them, but i have a series of theirs saved, and it was one of my earliest fics that i read on wattpad; i can say for sure that my favorite one was called "cry until you bleed". i love them, honestly, these books, even if i can't remember them well
73. what do you tend to get complimented on the most about your writing?
well, the angst! the most common comment i get is someone saying something about how the story was emotional and well put together or something like that? but the emotions are the most complimented parts of my fics :]
whenever i write something, i tend to step out of my own mind and into a crafted perspective. i put myself there, change myself, and try my hardest to make the reactions and emotions natural
i try to think of it as if i'm writing something that happened to me, and it's helpful that i have high empathy and a pretty strong imagination :]
