MENU DESCRIPTION: spicy garlic seasoned light chicken broth with double ancho glazed pork belly, an egg, bamboo shoots, leafy greens, mustard greens, green onions & black garlic “oil”

NOTE TO SELF: Remember how filling this is, but it may be worth getting the extra egg. Lots of good flavor here. 

Currently the best meal I’ve had after 27 April meals.

The Power of Suggestion

-- Hey, Sarah. Does this taste like soy sauce to you?

-- Not until you mentioned it.

-- Oh. Am I racist for thinking it tastes like soy sauce?

Tokyo Black is a porter brewed by the Japan's Yo-Ho Brewing. It’s a deep, deep black. It smells almost sour, like a carafe of coffee left out overnight. It tastes like black coffee, no sweetener. It finishes dry and clean, surprising for the style. It’s got one of the chocolate or fruit flavors you might expect, leaving it feeling a little thin. And It’s sort of savory. Maybe that’s what’s making me think soy sauce. Or maybe it’s the sumo wrestle on the can.
