sanzu thoughts (again) over my salad - feat. takeomi

was akashi takeomi even a good/non-evil friend to shinichiro? or is it possible he may have had plans to control shin from the shadows back in black dragons (or something like that) except shin retired early ofc so that must’ve derailed his plans. and ok so somebody else took over black dragons maybe even him (actually i have no idea who the next leaders were i just assumed it’s one of the founders)......so. idk where i'm going with this theory actually.

BUT IT’S JUST interesting i think that both akashi brothers served under each sano (also brothers). akashi in black dragons w/ shin and now (and in the future) sanzu with manjiro. there’s different possibilities for one it could be just one big coincidence haha sure but what if it’s an attempt at tryna repeat or redo the past? could be sanzu tryna live up to what his big brother could’ve or should’ve done (stop his ‘king’ from quitting) and thus him succeeding in what two people (kisaki and takeomi) have failed in doing (controlling manjiro/the sano leader). or maybe it’s also just sanzu growing up seeing all his brother’s shenanigans and eventually deciding he could do WAY better.

(and who’s to say they’re not conspiring together anyway?)

did manjiro and haruchiyo even know about each other as kids? thinking about how sanzu went around with a fake name makes me think they didn’t, or at least not in manjiro’s case. this particular exchange leaves me with the impression that sanzu at least knew who manjiro was (if even just from afar):

another thing i like about this convo is the way sanzu simply states that it’s cus mikey and baji were childhood friends, and with friends being mikey’s priority, then so of course that is where his loyalties lie, like duh mucho-san. and as someone who’s mad obsessed with loyalty, sanzu would know.

perhaps he was much closer to manjiro in this aspect more than anyone else...manjiro’s loyalty—and love*—for his friends, his desire to keep them safe, could be something that sanzu may have used against him to keep him from quitting the gung ho life, after all.

*i honest to god still have no opinion on whether or not canon sanzu knows about this concept even hahaha. maybe he does but some twisted version of it. yk...as in the chop you up tie you down to stop you from leaving me version. (half-joke)
