picturethisbook -- Just finished this heartwarming memoir about the author’s extraordinary bond with the penguin he rescued from an oil slick and looked after when he was a young man working and living in a college in Argentina. Have you read it? 🐧 | Aside: So I picked up this hilarious promotional bookmark at Tsutaya (see previous post), but later discovered that this funny guy was “Professor Poo” — the mascot for the phenomenally successful #UnkoKanji series of educational workbooks where the word “unko” or “poo” appears in every single one of its 3,018 sample sentences, to make kanji (adopted logographic Chinese characters) practice drills fun and engaging for kids who might otherwise dread writing and memorising hundreds of characters — brilliant! Now all we need is something similar for kids who need to do writing drills in Chinese 🤔
