White lady: “Help! Somebody call 911!”
Black man: “Good luck with that, lady. We defunded the police.”
[Image is an editorial cartoon that depicts a Black man wearing a black face mask and a hoodie while attempting to steal a white woman's purse]
On some level, this cartoon from The Missourian appears to be an effort to criticize of the call to defund the police. However, the cartoon missed its mark, and instead serves to stoke white fears by resurrecting the classic racist stereotype of a Black brute victimizing a white woman, June 10, 2020.

It’s already too late to stop climate change. We have 12 years to, at best, limit the horrible effects.
But hey, let’s mock those who want to address this ACTUAL FUCKING EMERGENCY!

After a week of vacation Gorrell still can’t be bothered to draw something new.
Gary Varvel , Tom Stiglich, and Michael Ramirez already did this cartoon a week ago:
I understand having similar cartoons within a day or two of someone else, but over a week? now you’re just stealing ideas.
Okay so it’s supposed to be a ball & chain. why isn’t the chain attached to his legs? and why isn’t the ball on the bottom of the logo? Those balls are heavy right?
Someone on gocomics said this cartoon is actually about how the NBA Commissioner stood up to China unshackling them, but if that was Gorrell’s intention he failed. the shackle isn’t drawn open. the pin is still closed in the shackle.

is it plagiarism if you copy/paste someone else’s artwork and draw over it, but cite the artist? probably not technically, but it’s still incredibly lazy.
I don’t think this is an attack on Trump, it’s more of a “both sides” ‘hey all president’s sure are incompetent huh?’
at least tom stiglich drew his:
Hillary in 2018 #91, 92
I approve of the Stiglich one.
Even conservative cartoonists are siding with Omarosa.
(Posting this just to tweak the nose of one particular follower who has decided to make the N-tape the hill for Trump he wants to die on.)
Hillary in 2018 #32
Michael Ramirez had two cartoons come out today, one about the White House Correspondents’ Dinner and one about Ronny Jackson. I was thinking about posting them with a glib ‘Way to be timely’ comment, but decided against it.
Then this turns up in my feed, and because it has Hillary Clinton I have to include it.
So here goes:
Infinity War came out a week and a half ago. Way to be timely.

And because I’m a pedantic nerd: is Barack Obama supposed to be Hawkeye or Black Panther? Because one makes sense and the other doesn’t...
Also, Nancy Pelosi could/should be Scarlet Witch, if we want to stick to gender lines. (I’m not giving Stiglich the benefit of the doubt that this is supposed to be Jane Foster Thor.)
Not sure who Hulk and Captain America are supposed to be, but I have now officially thought more about this than Stiglich did.
