I’ve been hanging onto this wee dram for years - not easy to replace as this classic 16 yro Islay smokey dram is hard to come by But all good things The reward thick rich massive sherry and one of the smokiest noses out of this region The palate was equally rewarding with mouthfuls of dry huge sherry peat and oak with a wonderful sweetness And the finish, oh the finish……. Indian Summers and Whisky 🥃 This Amarut cask strength is right now my most favorite weé tipple It has massive taste 👅 onslaught that does not disappoint. It’s sweet on the nose (if you can leave it sitting in the glass for an hour it gets even better) with banana On the palate it’s banana crunchies and enough vanilla honey 🍯 to satisfy Pooh bear The palate is a little fiery with the +61% but you can smooth it with a drop or too of water. It’s decadent rich and best sipped slowly to savory nuts and raisins over the honey and vanilla.
