What if Tony Stark is a skrull-
What if he was adopted-
What if that’s the reason Howard was so absuive to him-
What if that’s why he worked so hard-
What if that’s why he feels like he’s never enough-
Because he’s not enough to anyone.
What if instead of Uncle’s Ben death as a turning point in Peter’s life, it’s Tony’s instead.

Do you think those soldiers in the car were the first time someone died for Tony Stark? And tony thinks about it a lot like how is my life more important than those young kids, “Why did they die and not me? Maybe if I did die they wouldn’t of.”
Maybe that’s why he decided to pick up the fight as Iron Man.
Because he thinks if he can avenge all those people who died for him (like those soldiers) he would of finally paid back his debt. But his debt gets bigger as his mission goes on and he can never pay it back and he knows that. So he understands and accepts one day he’ll pay back his debt with his life. He’s at peace with that and he’s ready for the moment he can seize.
Steve: *sneezes*
Tony:
Steve: are you going to say “bless you”?
Tony: I’m sitting next to you. You’ve clearly been blessed.
*after Tony dies in IW*
Peter: Karen activate instant kill mode
Karen: Is this what Mr. Stark wanted?
Peter: It doesn’t matter.
Karen: Mr. Stark programmed me to-
Peter: Mr. Stark’s gone! Tony’s gone... *slumps to the floor, defeated*
Karen: Tony is here.
Peter: No. He’s not here.
Karen: Tony is here. *pulls up old footage from the mark II*
Tony: Ok. Let’s do this right. Start mark half a meter past center. *sighs* Look alive, you are on standby for fire safety. You roll it.
Tony: Ok active hand controls. Getting started nice and easy. 10% thrust capacity to achieve lift and 3...2...1... *hits ceiling*
Karen: *cuts footage*
Peter: *sniffs* Thank you, Karen. I’m so sorry. I’m nothing like Mr. Stark.
