My new coworker is super transphobic but since I'm on my way out of this job I figured it's not worth stirring up shit. Today one of my managers asked what I thought of new coworker. I was trying to be nice and said I had no complaints, and my manager was like ok but we need to know what you think. Apparently they think I'm psychic and can read people and vibes idk they're a little superstitious? So I said she just doesn't know me yet so she keeps putting her foot in her mouth. Like making assumptions about me being young and my coworkers are always like "Ellen is very mature, she's been through a lot that aged her young" so I don't have to say anything. So I told my manager my only complaint is she's kind of transphobic, and that doesn't sit well with me. She had said she didn't want her daughter in a transgender friendly dorm. Well. Turns out new coworker went to school with managers husband. V conservative town. So my manager is like well you have to understand her background, she's just protective of her daughter. So I shut my mouth and my manager was like ok I guess new coworker will fit in alright. I like my job alright. I am hoping to get a better paying one after I get my degree. Hopefully in a... Less conservative setting.
