Hey guys, this program has been running for 8 years, the past 3 years it has had volunteers literally build the whole facility by HAND.
These kids need somewhere to stay, they are living below the poverty line, this is the final year of building, they need only $3,000 to make this happen, which is nothing compared to the hard work they have put in.
These people building have paid their own way every year, put in their time, money and effort for these less fortunate.
The women running this program WAS below the poverty line, she is giving back to her community in the most heartfelt way possible.
Every. Single. Cent. Count.
Even if its only $5, please... thats only a coffee.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE...
If you cant donate PLEASE at least reblog..
This would be a long shot but I thought I would ask again...many of you would be aware of my desire to build a boarding facility for underprivildge children in the Philippines with the Alternative to Schoolies Initiative program that I coordinate. Many of you have been so generous these past two years by helping me in getting it off the ground; we've purchased the block of land and the building in itself which the a2s crew in 2015 and 2016.
Unfortunately, all attempts to raise the much-needed fund for the project this year to finish the facility failed to deliver and therefore we are force to look at other alternative of which I am hopeful that you are able to help me once more.
We are building the final stage of the boarding facility for underprivileged children in Davao City Philippines. This is NOT an orphanage even though many believe that it is. We are merely providing free accommodation for children from outlying villages from Indangan District in the outskirts of the city who would have to walk a minimum of 12km one way to get to the nearest public school. These children will go home to their families on the weekend and school holidays.
Service clubs across Moyne and Warrnambool have been very generous to us over the years and this year is no different but in spite of these supports we still need to raise about $3,000 to finish the facility.
Any money we raise here will go towards the purchase of the following: refrigerator/freezer, gas stove, table and chairs, bunk beds for the children x 12, toilet bowls x 3, kitchen sink and many other basic household necessities to make it livable and functioning.
Your support will mean the world to me and to these children that are going to be residing at this facility.
I will be forever grateful if you can find it in your heart to lend me a hand once more.
I’ve a crew of 10 people this year, eight (8) are young people (schoolies and toolies). Kevin Moroney from Koroit Lion's Club will be joining me again for the fifth time. It is a huge undertaking for all involve and each of us including myself pay our way. We are departing on Sunday 26 November for 23days to finish the project.
