things i learned today

(technically i already knew this but it. got Driven Home)

i got some fan patterns, and i figured ‘i’ll need another pillow, that way i can switch to something simpler/less frustrating, like a bookmark, if i need a break. also, if i get a bigger pillow, i won’t have to deal with unpinning and moving things when i run out of room.’

so, i ordered a 24-inch cookie pillow.

it came today.

....long story short, i. uh. overestimated the amount of pillow i would need.

Yeah I am Not Good at determining Physical Size from Dimensions. XD

But at least I will Almost Certainly not run out of room for anything I have planned right now!

I have now wound Half the bobbins I need for the next thing I’m making...it took like...two and a half/three hours (admittedly while watching TV; and also I tend to wind more thread than I need because I Dislike having to replace bobbins if they run out lol. But still).

((In all seriousness, though, I’m looking forward to this one--I think the multicolor thread will look really cool in the pattern I have pricked out. There’s a lot of spiders and such that’ll show it off, but we’ll see!))

This took, mm, about four hours spread over two days? I am slooooow, lol.

Also, as a side note, do any of y’all actually formally Measure your thread? Like...I know I’ve read a couple different tricks (at least 4x the length of the pattern for each bobbin; for most bookmarks roughly 1.5-2 yds per bobbin) but I just...guestimate, based on armspan, and then add extra so I don’t have to work in a new one ‘cause I ran out.

When I got home Alex was fixing the French press I broke this morning...toolbox out, polka dot man underwear on.

I bought them for him, so it's ok...and like really hot.
