Y’all! 🤯

I’ve been writing fanfic regularly since early 2020—going on 6 years now—with 58 works on AO3 (all but one complete) 😷 and don’t ask about the unpublished WIPs 😷 and I’ve been blessed with lots of kudos and comments and friends reblogging my announcement posts as recs along the way…but nothing I’ve written has ever been on one of those “fic recommendation compilation posts” where someone lists their ten favorite recent fics or the like…

Until now 🥳

We Gotta Get Out of This Place ended up on The MCU Library’s Kate/Yelena Masterlist Part 2…with a bunch of other really amazing fics I’ve read and admired (and others that I’ve wanted to read…) 😭

Sitting here alternately jumping up and down and sobbing at the end of a taxing Friday…

I don’t usually toot my own horn (I don’t like tooting my own horn, really), but I am so tickled about this, so I hope everyone will forgive me for indulging in a little celebration.

Thanks again to all my friends and readers in the Bishova community here and on AO3 who have been so supportive from day one (day negative one?), because I never would have written it without you 🫶

Hey! I realized this is a question I didn’t have an absolute answer on.

In Monster anime did Johan ever stop idolizing his sister Nina? Johan seemed to idolize Nina, with the acorn scene where Johan gives Anns everything and Nina being told by Johan via emails that Johan was born to smother her in flowers. Johan seems to not value his life but values Nina’s by not putting her in dangerous situations unless Tenmas around to save her. Also Johan couldn’t look at Nina when she saw him doing something evil. So did Johan ever stop idolizing Nina by the end of the series? Did Johan still view Nina as superior to him or did that view change?

I should reread, but I don't think it is elaborated on. That is because the focus of the story is about how Nina feels about Johan and how her feelings change throughout the story.

In general, I think Johan by the end still idolizes Nina, but the implication is that thanks to Nina and Tenma saving him, he will become able to truly become his own person outside of his sister.

In short, we do not see Johan's feelings for Nina change because Johan himself is not shown changing throughout the story. Rather, the finale is the moment, where he might start to change. However, we are not shown this change on page, it is only implied.

So it's been a while since I posted anything here (other than reblogging a couple memes/etc.) So, uh, mini catch-up ahead of next month's Coming Attractions, I guess? Since I don't think I've done one of those since like...February...lol.

To be fair, there hasn't been a whole lot going on. I did finish my SWBB project, with podfic from the lovely @kittonafoxgirl! It's a fun little AU; Padme's ship went somewhere Not Tatooine during TPM and therefore Anakin never joined the Jedi Order. Now, about halfway through the Clone Wars, Ahsoka runs into Anakin in a black market hub, and Shenanigans ensue as they immediately Bond and get dragged into foiling a Nefarious Plot.

Possibly some interesting stuff would happen later on in this timeline if I ever get back to it, but we'll see given how many other SW projects I have that I'm (in my own head) overdue on lol...

And I'm signed up to do pod_together again this year (with a much smaller list of fandoms to be partnered on, haha. I mean, keeping my much larger laundry list in mind once I'm matched because who knows where things will go from there, but I think this is a better approach for me for this year, especially since the past couple years have been slower for me on the writing front.

I'm writing for Galactica Big Bang this year as well! Check-in #1 for that is Friday, so I'm noodling on that. of course instead of giving me anything i need for that my brain is feeding me something Entirely unrelated in an Entirely different fandom; there will probably be an au outline just to get it out of my head at some point in the next week or so lol

...and yeah, I guess that's where things stand with me! More details on upcoming projects and a proper Coming Attractions post next month, on the first Monday as usual.

And for now, since I'm around and working on GBB or that other thing that won't leave me alone...let's do an Open Question Night!

things i learned today

(technically i already knew this but it. got Driven Home)

i got some fan patterns, and i figured ‘i’ll need another pillow, that way i can switch to something simpler/less frustrating, like a bookmark, if i need a break. also, if i get a bigger pillow, i won’t have to deal with unpinning and moving things when i run out of room.’

so, i ordered a 24-inch cookie pillow.

it came today.

....long story short, i. uh. overestimated the amount of pillow i would need.

Yeah I am Not Good at determining Physical Size from Dimensions. XD

But at least I will Almost Certainly not run out of room for anything I have planned right now!

“The Hooneymooners”, or, The Phantom Gets Married

Not really, obviously. But this short (and, to be honest, unbelievably corny) comic from #15 of the oldie horror anthology Vault of Evil features visuals strikingly similar to Phantom Manor, from the house itself to ‘Karl’, who looks spookily like Vincent Price, and, therefore, like a pre-skeleton Henry Ravenswood, to the doomed and ghostly wedding involving a sing-song, beloved local young woman with dark brown hair and a forbidden romance. I came across it on a blog, and I thought I’d share it with you lot.
