🔥 - Unpopular Opinions | Always Accepting!
I don't know if this can really be considered an "unpopular" opinion but I will use this to rant about something regarding the fandom.
A good chunk of the fandom is so damn ungrateful when it comes to updates. They want each and every update to be this big thing that changes the game in a big way...when that's not how game development works.
This isn't Cookie Run, Blushcrunch isn't a massive studio that can churn out a big new update every month like Devsisters.
Now don't get me wrong, I would absolutely love more things to be added to the game, especially since I've almost "completed" everything. But that's the thing, they're complaining the game is "boring skinslop" because they play it so damn much! And I would know, I played the game a lot!
I'm happy that they're focusing a bit more on mechanics, machines, and lore, even if it's in smaller bits like "Toon of The Week" and the co-op machines. "Filler" does not always mean "Bad". They're likely working on something big but want to put in little things bit by bit to keep the fans engaged or something like that.
But noooo some of these fans complain about those updates like "no one asked for this" uhhhhh correct me if I'm wrong but a LOT of people wanted new machine types and new lore stuff! Not to mention I've seen a bunch of fan made concepts for co-op machines even before the recent update! YOU may have not wanted it, but a lot of people did!
Like to do you want mechanic and quality of life changes or do you not? Make it make sense.
And don't even get me started on the "skinslop" thing. First of all I hate that the word "slop" is being used for "thing I don't like" now. But also like...of course the game is gonna have a lot of skins! Skins take less time to make than new mechanics!
And by that logic, a LOT of games would be considered "skinslop". Cookie Run has a lot a skins/costumes for it's characters, Call of Duty has a lot of skins and cosmetics, Dead by Daylight (one of DW's inspirations btw) has a lot of skins. But I don't see anyone calling THOSE games "skinslop"!
I'm not trying to be a "Qwel Glazer" here, she's not a perfect dev but she's FAR from a terrible one. Especially since she's one of the few that hasn't been exposed for racism, grooming, or a straight up felony (*cough Pre.ssure's Dev *cough*).
I'm not saying Qwel/BlushCrunch is immune from criticism regarding stuff like lore, gameplay, mechanics, etc. But those fans need to give PROPER criticism instead of just complaining about every single damn update like they didn't want those updates in the first place!
