Oh so NOW Qwel has decided to respond, after, oh I don't know....Almost a MONTH after the situation.

And no surprise, the apology is shit. Just a big 'ol corporate nothingburger of lies and a desperate attempt to save her own ass. Sorry girl, that ship has sailed and you've only got yourself to blame for it.

First off, a proper apology contains action of helping those that one has hurt and/or taking preventative measures to make sure it never happens again. Does she mention any of that? Nope! Just "I'm sorry, reach out to a trusted one blah blah blah". Which makes sense if it were someone like me, but not the one that DID the harm in the first place, whether intentionally or not.

Oh and "This community/the victims matter more to me than my reputation"? REALLY? This apology came out not long after it was found out you SUED/tried to sue the victims for speaking out. So that is just a straight up LIE. If you ACTUALLY cared about the victims, you would cancel the suing (whatever the term is idk), give some kind of reparation if possible, and MAYBE just MAYBE step down and pass the torch to someone else. That way you'd actually show where your priorities are, or rather should be; Human lives over a damn Roblox game, your wallet, and your own reputation.

FUCK YOU QWEL. Give a proper apology and step the fuck down. Or just let your game rot if you care so much about your reputation. That shit is GONE. It is damaged beyond repair. And no amount of corporate "we hear your concerns"-ness is gonna save you and your game unless you decide to actually value human lives over your little "legacy". Whether you like it or not, your reputation has and forever will tarnish your game that is oh so precious to you.

So yeah I'm going to continue boycotting and making Garden of Sin content. She does not fucking deserve Dandy's World, she does not deserve our money, and she does not deserve to be forgiven just because she finally said something. An apology requires ACTION, and she has done no action, or none that doesn't make things worse.

No matter what, Garden of Sin will remain while her game goes to die.

*Sigh* I have to address the recent news regarding the Qwel situation, as Selene and Gracie have. Qwel has now gone on to sue the victims who have been speaking out, and of course, I am devastated by this news.

As such, the blog's hiatus will continue, and all my DW muses will be discord exclusive until further notice.

However, I will not stop making Garden of Sin content on gxrdenofsin, nothing about that is going anywhere. Not to be all "but muh game" but I worked so hard on it and I don't believe I should just give it all up because the creator is a selfish and lying prick who thinks that her game is more important than addressing that she hurt people.

Consider the RP side of things a sort of "sacrifice" or compromise for the situation, I guess. And again I have not played and will not play the game since the situation began and I have not bought anything from the Dandy's World store either (well, I haven't bought anything since the Astro plush MONTHS before the situation but that's besides the point.).

And I believe that I have deviated from the canon enough that I've basically put it into my own hands and made it my own thing. Such has having all my original characters (Dinah, Stitch, etc) and my redesigns/reworks/sorta "oc-ifying" the canon Toons. I believe I have done all that I can at this point without going completely silent for...who knows how long that'd be.

That being said, what Qwel is doing is heinous and godawful, and the victims deserve all the support they can get. Just because I made/make stuff connected to her game does not mean I support her and her actions.

Fuck Qwel. Garden of Sin will live and thrive as her game and her canon rots due to her shitty actions.

[🎲] Goodbye everyone... I can't believe I've been down here for seven years.

On that first day, after the shaking started. I didn't think I'd survive a week.

But after a few days, I settled into a routine. That's what kept me sane. Having a schedule, living for today.

I always expected to be dead tomorrow. But if you wait long enough you get used to anything. Even a monster on the other side of the door starts to feel normal, almost friendly.

And then one day, everything just....stopped. Whatever that thing was, it was gone. Maybe it got tired of waiting. Or maybe I just got tired of being afraid.

It's been a week now, the longest in seven years. I'm done waiting. I have to leave, while I still can.

I know it's out there somewhere. Whatever hurt Bassie...And Bobette....And Vee...

Maybe this is all a mistake... But I need to stop living the same day. Even if it kills me.

Whatever's out there, I just want you to know I'm ready for it. I'm going to appreciate all of it, especially the food.

I don't mind if I only have a year left... Or a month...Or a single week. I'd be happy with one new day. I can already imagine the sun on my face...

Just wanted to pop in as an update hopping off of Selene's/moonlitmanor's recent post. But just want to say that if we don't get a response from Q.wel (which we probably won't considering Qwel's habit of conflict avoidance.) I will start posting stuff on this blog in mid-July again. Likely just headcanons, aesthetic posts, and playlist stuff at the start but still.

In other news, I am returning to making Dandy's World content on my DW blog gxrdenofsin (formerly viewofagarden). Creating stuff for my fanon/"fangame AU"; "Dandy's World: Garden of Sin.". Which is me basically turning the canon game into my personal sandbox (which I've kinda been doing already but still), sorta like a fangame.

I will also edit my pr0mo to specifically mention Garden of Sin and the disclaimer I've put on other parts of the blog.

I'm also currently working on making a solo blog for Marnie (My Bloodmoney OC) so I can have at least one character for RPs (unfortunately my muse for Blossom is low at the moment). I'm working on making her a semi-fandomless OC (made for a game but is treated like a fandomless OC on the blog, due to Bloodmoney's obscurity.).

If you'll allow me to vent for a bit, I've genuinely been feeling awful during my break. I feel like I'm losing my sense of community thanks to something out of my control. The uncertainty of it all is figuratively killing me. I know I can't control what people do or say, if they wanna leave the fandom or take a break from making things for it, that is their choice.

But, without trying to be all "but muh game" as possible, I do not have the privilege of leaving or stopping so easily. Having a hyperfixation is both a blessing and a curse. I genuinely felt so bad about not making anything, for I don't usually have the energy or focus to make something for anything else. It sucks.

So please don't think I'm trying to ignore the controversy, I'm not, my heart absolutely goes out to the victims. Garden of Sin is my way of coping. Not in a "let's pretend nothing happened" sort of way, but in a "I acknowledge the horrors and they persist but so do I" kind of way, if that makes any sense.

Sigh...I need to make this statement, and yes it is in regards to the current drama surrounding Qwel. I for one, cannot say much about the situation as it is very muddy and I do not consider myself in the right headspace or knowledge threshold to give a strong opinion on it.

For the record, I still love the game and it's characters, and my OCs are not going anywhere. But the situation has currently killed my motivation to draw stuff for or make public content about the game, so I have decided to take a break from doing so.

This game is my hyperfixation, and I am in full support of separating the art from the artist (unless it's a JKR scenario of course). But I also care about the victims just as equally, so I cannot, in good faith, make content for Dandy's World, or play the game, at this current time.

This break will not be permanent, for the record. Perhaps a week at minimum. Regardless of the outcome of the situation, I will still continue to love the game, it's characters, and all the friends and connections it's given me. That does not mean I support/condone anything Qwel has done, allegedly or not.

For the time being, this blog will be on hiatus until further notice.
