can you tell me what the stormlight archive series is ACTUALLY about without spoilering? Every time I've asked or searched, I get summaries that don't tell me anything useful
Hmmm, well part of the problem is a lot of it is spoilers. I went into it completely blind so...everything feels like a spoiler to me.
The other problem is, I don't know what you consider useful. Assuming from the summaries I've found, I think maybe they either have too many spoilers, or don't describe the overarching plot and are instead too granular? With that in mind:
Long ago, there was an order of knights called the "Radiants" who saved the continent of Roshar from the "Voidbringers" during the "Desolations", a series of world-ending catastrophes. But then the Radiants betrayed their oaths, and vanished. The only traces left are their Stormlight-powered armor and swords, known as Shardplate/Shardblades.
In modern day, the human country of Alethkar is at war with a chitinous humanoid race known as Parshendi. Here, the world begins creeping towards catastrophe yet again, and forces beyond men try to steer humanity to stop it...
I have to say, it's fascinating so far, and only now in the second book am I starting to get any idea where any of this is going (but I really have no idea yet). All I can honestly say is what makes it interesting is the fantastic world building, the stories of each character and the politics of the nations, even if I have no idea where this is going yet.
I'm sure this isn't helpful
