Sock Knitting

I finished the second pair of short/sport socks from this wonderful colorway of Filly. It took a bit of bright blue at the end of the toes. If I’d knit one less full round in each sock, there would have been enough to complete all four. Next time.

Some more deep stash knit up! This yarn/pattern combo was from the April 2013 Cookie A Sock Club. 📖 Pattern: Tulip Socks by Cookie A 🧶 Dream in Color Everlasting Sock in the colorway “Violet Hour” I knit these using size 0 Addi FlexiFlips. Taking stock of my knitting projects this year, it appears that I have been knitting rather a lot of socks and was able to really focus on my sock knitting technique. Spring Knitting: The finishing of things

Short socks

My first short socks of the year. Top down, heel flap, and gusset. They're 100% cotton, a little heavier weight than usual, and a little stiff (for now). They fit my feet exactly, though, so they are very comfortable! Bring it on, summer!

Pirate Socks

I only needed to weave in the yarn ends of these pirate socks. I weave them diagonally into the stockinette, which doesn’t seem to affect the stretchiness of the fabric or show on the right side. I haven’t knit a pair of these in years, so I promptly cast on another pair!

Pirate Socks

My first new knitting project for 2025 is a pair of pirate (scrappy) socks. Piecing together the best of past socks seems an appropriate choice.

Sock Knitting

I like knitting these short socks for summer. It’s just a plain vanilla sock with a short cuff and almost no ankle, but sock knitters know the joy of slipping on a pair of socks that are knit to exactly their feet. This is Filly, a cotton and wool blend of light fingering weight from Universal Yarn. I was happy that for my size 10-ish feet I was able to knit four entire socks from one ball and have 2 grams left over. It makes me smile.
