twitter.com/torcht After playing Silent Hill 2 a few weeks ago I haven't been able get this chilling song out of my head so I decided to scrap together a quick remix for it. Most likely elements from this track will find their way into Distance's soundtrack at some point. I obviously recommend checking out Yamaoka's entire soundtrack: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/silent-hill-2-original-soundtrack/id164069102
Song Diary Day 108: "The Sentinel is Watching" by Torcht
The relationship I have with racing games is kind of weird. I want to like them, but it seems that there's an exponential relationship between how well I do in a game and how amazing I think the soundtrack is. In games like Hydro Thunder where I don't like the soundtrack as much, I tend to not get as far into the game and give up more readily. On the other hand, Burnout 3's soundtrack was one of my favorite soundtracks ever, and I managed to 100% complete the game. All this ties into my song entry, I swear!
There's another racing game that I like to think I did pretty well with, and that's a free PC game called Nitronic Rush. You can watch the trailer for the game at the top of this post. I managed to complete the story mode for this game and some of the difficult bonus levels, and I attribute that to how fun Torcht made the soundtrack to this game. The whole soundtrack just screams of Tron and Rez and cyberpunk and the hacking segments of the movie Hackers. It's over-the-top electro music that is just as much outside the game as it is on the racetrack.
I just hope I'm never driving when this song comes on... I may end up sending my car flying off a ramp in the hopes that I can engage my car's gliding wings and do some barrel rolls for some sweet points. My brain will be too amped up on this song's crazy beat to realize that my car doesn't have a set of gliding wings.
That said, be sure to give the game a try. It's free and super fun!

A friendly reminder that the entire remastered Nitronic Rush soundtrack is available for free!
