Festive- Chifuyu Matsuno x OC Oneshot
Okay, so this is my first Tumblr post ever and I am lowkey afraid I am botching it a bit, but when I get the hang of this I'll change it. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this medium sized story of mine. English isn't my first language, and I'm very nervous to press post.
Chifuyu didn't know what to expect. He was brought along by Baji-san and Kazutora-kun. Telling him there was this band they had to see at the upcoming festival. The ticket was already brought for him. While he wasn't really into Heavy Metal or Hard Rock, he couldn't deny the bands they had seen already weren't awful. But eventually, hunger struck and Chifuyu wandered off to find something to eat. He tried to inform the two who forced him along, but he couldn't find them anymore. Well, he could always find them anyway. Baji-san was very distinctive so that wouldn't be an issue. Trudging through the masses of people, finding something to eat wasn't hard. The issue was that Chifuyu didn't know what he wanted to eat. There was so much to choose from. “Can't make a decision?” A female voice asked him. Chifuyu turned towards the voice and saw a young woman, around his own age, standing next to him. Looking kind of lost, just like him. Chifuyu couldn't help but check her out. The woman was wearing black combat boots with knee-length purple and black socks. Above that, a very short skintight black skirt, a cotton black jacket wrapped around her waist and her top was just a piece of purple fabric around her chest area. Which made her breasts pop out even more, as her skin was relatively pale. Her vibrant red hair, Chifuyu wasn't sure if that was her natural hair color, was slightly curling and hanging loose over her shoulders. Around her neck was a leather collar with a cat bell attached to it. Her teal colored eyes were scanning the sign in front of them. When he thought he had seen every thing about the woman, her eyes turned towards him. “Cat got your tongue?” She asked playfully, her left hand making a pawing motion. Like a cat would make sometimes. “Just checking.” Chifuyu said, hoping his face wouldn't betray that he was actually checking her out. “The menu or me?” A smug smile graced her dark purple colored lips. “Would you mind if I said both?” Chifuyu didn't know where he got the guts to ask that, but here he stood. Blurting out the first reaction on his mind. “You're pretty cool, answering smoothly like that. Your girlfriend must like your witty comebacks.” The woman said as she turned back to the menu. “I can only hope she will one day.” Chifuyu said, trying to hide he was single. “One day, you single?” The woman asked confused. Chifuyu shrugged. “Shame, you look like quite a catch. Hey, let's pretend we are a couple.” The woman said and Chifuyu wasn't sure if she was joking or not. “If we do this, for how long?” He couldn't help but baiting. “The rest of the day. At least, until Okami gets on. I really wanna be there.” The woman said smiling. While Chifuyu wouldn't mind, he wasn't really sure. “Come on. It will be fun! And my friends are kind of snooze-fests. So they won't be here anyway.” The woman said trying to hype him up for it. What was the worst that could happen? And he had been single for a long time, sharing this day would make it better. “Okay, deal. But I have no idea when Okami is playing, as this isn't really my type of music. So you have to guide me.” Chifuyu confessed. “Figured you weren't like me. Your whole outfit screams unfit. But we can change that if you want.” The hyperactive woman said as she pulled him with her. “Where are we going?” Chifuyu asked confused, barely unable to keep up. “I finally found something worthy of eating.” She said excited.
After they had something to eat, which was strangely enough Onigiri's, the woman pulled him along to the market area. “So, what are you normally in to?” The woman asked interested. Had she ever introduced herself? Chifuyu couldn't remember. “Cats, my friends, but musicwise I am pretty mainstream. Baji-san and Kazutora-kun, friends of mine, forced me to come with them and enjoy. But I have to say that I am not disliking it.” Chifuyu explained. “Hm, okay. So you have never heard Okami?” The woman asked. Chifuyu shook his head. “You are missing out so much, but that's fine. You'll hear them later anyway. They are the closing act tonight.” “I know we are pretending to date, but I never got your name.” Chifuyu said, unsure if he was rude or not. “I didn't? Sorry, silly me. I'm Mine. That's enough.” Mine introduced herself, bowing dramatically. Her hair fell down and only by then Chifuyu could see a massive back piece tattoo of a wolf between her shoulder blades. And a smaller one of a flower on the left side. “Nice tattoo.” Chifuyu commented impressed. The redhead quickly stood straight, blushing a bit. “Thanks, stranger.” She commented back. “Chifuyu, Matsuno Chifuyu. But Chifuyu is fine.” Chifuyu introduced himself coolly. At least he thought it was cool. “Fuyu, huh.” Mine said smiling softly, but was quickly distracted by something. Pulling him along, he was forced to be a dress up doll. It took a while, but Mine was confident about his current outfit. It was a black skinny jeans with metal chains attached. Something Baji-san would for sure wear. And a band shirt of Okami. The front was, strangely enough, the same picture of a wolf as Mine had on her back. “Is it a coincidence that your tattoo and the picture on this shirt is the same?” Chifuyu asked sceptically. “I'm one of their biggest fans. So no.” Mine said laughing. Chifuyu wanted to walk up to the seller to buy the items, when Mine pulled him along with her. “But I need to pay for them.” Chifuyu objected. “I already did for you. No worries.” Mine said with a bright smile. “Did you want to go on pretend-dating so you could spoil a guy?” Chifuyu asked bluntly as they passed several stands. “Maybe, but you also look cute so it's a win for us both.” Mine said as she stopped in front of a jewelry stand. There were several beautiful pieces, like earrings, necklaces, rings. There was something that pulled Chifuyu. It was a necklace with a black cat. Looking at it closer, it kind of looked like Peke-J, his own cat. He flagged the seller and quickly, but silently, bought it. While Mine was still looking at rings. “Go for the red one.” Chifuyu commented as he stood next to her. “You sure? Isn't it a bit too, I don't know, underwhelming?” She asked him doubting. “Not all things need to be obnoxious or loud.” Chifuyu said with a smile. The woman looked stunned. She tried it and it fitted like a glove. “Just like fate. But, I think I would go for the light blue one, instead of the red one.” She said determined. “Oh, any reason for it?” Chifuyu asked interested. “Someone told me that not all things need to be obnoxious or loud.” Mine replied with a cheeky smile.
Together they visited some smaller bands and found spots to talk a bit more about their lives. Chifuyu couldn't help bringing up his friends as well. “So, let me get this a-sexual.” Mine started and Chifuyu was slightly confused but realized what she meant about five seconds later. “This Baji-san friend of yours, you met him because you thought he was some random gang member and would walk around like he own the fucking place. Only to see a nerd with slick hair and glasses.” Mine tried to connect it. “Yeah, he was the typical pointdexter. But then I looked at what he was doing and I was even more shocked that the whole facade he had was just a ruse. He couldn't spell for shit.” Chifuyu continued. “Was he dyslexic or something?” Mine asked. Chifuyu shrugged. “He never tested for it.” “Okay, I need a description of this guy because I can't imagine how that would've looked.” Mine said almost bouncing in the grass. “Oh, BAJI, I found him!” The voice of Kazutora-kun sounded from not too far away. Chifuyu turned around and saw the dual-colored friend of him. “Where the fuck have you been?” Baji-san asked him. “Ah, sorry. I stole him for a date for a day.” Mine said smiling as she put on her jacket. “Chifuyu, did you go shopping?” Kazutora-kun asked confused. “Among other things.” Chifuyu smiled before he turned towards Mine. “Mine, these are my friends. The guy with the tiger tattoo in his neck is Kazutora-kun,” Chifuyu started to introduce his friends. “And you must be Baji-san.” Mine said as she turned towards Baji-san. “I take it Chifuyu told about me?” Baji-san asked. “Just imagining you with glasses. Did he had this length hair as well, Fuyu?” Mine asked as she turned towards him. “It was slightly shorter but yeah.” Chifuyu answered. “Okay, I can totally imagine it now. I get your double take. He doesn't look like a nerd. More like a gang leader.” Mine commented as she checked him out. Chifuyu wasn't sure if this pretend-dating would last long. “Thankfully I'm not into black haired guys. One of my friends is.” Mine added and pointed up and down to Baji-san. “That whole ecstatic you have, my friend would drool the moment she saw you.” “And where is your friend?” Kazutora-kun asked. “I have no clue. I came here with a couple of friends but they were too mentally hung over to explore. But they will be there when Okami starts playing.” Mine shrugged. “They play in about an hour. And the area is pretty big. You sure you don't need to find them?” Baji-san asked sceptically. Mine shook her head. “It will work out. Else we had a meet up point. I'll see them there. But I would like to go into the ferris wheel. As closing for the date?” Mine basically begged Chifuyu to go with her. And while they were still pretend-dating, why shouldn't he do something truly romantic? “I'll see you later.” Chifuyu said as he grabbed Mine's wrist and pulled her along to the ferris wheel.
The ride wasn't extremely long but long enough for Chifuyu to surprise Mine with a small gift. “But Fuyu, you shouldn't have.” Mine said bashfully. “You paid for the clothes I'm wearing, it's a small thing to do. A reminder of our pretend-dating.” Chifuyu said as he put the necklace around her neck. “Thank you. I won't forget this.” Mine said and in the reflection of the window, Chifuyu could see her rub away a tear. Mine turned around and stared at him for a bit. “Yeah, you would be a perfect boyfriend.” She commented and kissed him. No warning, no hesitation. Chifuyu was shocked for a split second but moved along with her motions. It was so soft and tender, yet also fiery and energetic. He had known her for like half a day but the kiss reflected her so much. “Andalsoagoodkissertoo.” Mine spoke too quickly when she broke away. Chifuyu couldn't help but chuckle. “What? Did my ADHD act up again?” Mine asked. It explained her whole distracted-squirrel actions. But it was cute. “Maybe. I didn't know you had ADHD.” Chifuyu said calmly but smiling. “Liar, I've been all over the place the whole day.” Mine said as she got up. They were almost down again, meaning they probably need to say goodbye. “Well, I guess this is goodbye?” Chifuyu asked. “Yeah, but I'm sure you'll find me again.” Mine said with a smile. They got off and she kissed him one more time before sprinting away. “Way to go, lover boy~” Kazutora-kun cat-called. Chifuyu turned around to see his elders standing next to the exit. Kazutora-kun smiling like a cat who had the cream and Baji-san with a semi-amused smile. “Come on, I want to get in front with Okami.” Baji-san said and moved way from them. The semi-last band was playing on the other stage, so the stage where Okami would play was almost empty. If they were on time they had front row standing spots which would be cool. Thankfully, they were able to get the best places as well. The semi-last band was finished and the people started to gather around them. “Baji-san, why did you want to go to this band?” Chifuyu asked interested. “Because their sound is amazing, and I do find the one who does keyboard hot.” His black haired friend answered. “Nah, not her. The rhythm Guitar player. She is smoking.” Kazutora-kun commented. “Are you fucking blind?” Baji-san was ready to throw down, Chifuyu could see it. But he was also trying to find a certain interesting girl he was lucky to spend the day with. For being one of their biggest fans, she was sure missing out.
Before Chifuyu knew, the first tones of a guitar sounded from the speakers. Then the drums would add. A heavy distortion on guitar. Then all came together, except for the vocals. The whole crowd went wild, while Chifuyu had turned back to the stage. The moment he heard the vocals, he was shocked. That voice was Mine! But huh? He was so confused. Had he spend the whole afternoon and evening with the lead singer of Okami? Looking at the outfit of the vocalist, it was almost the same as Mine had worn all day. The song progressed and his two friends moved along with the song. The vocalist didn't fully shown herself yet, as her face was still covered by her hood. Only at the end of the song, the vocalist turned around and threw the jacket off. The same tattoos he had complemented before stared at him. It was Mine. Her vibrant red hair was braided and slung over her shoulder. “Good Evening Crazyheads!” Mine yelled in the mic. The whole field went wild. Howling loudly. Like it was something normal. “That sounds like a good crowd. Don't ya think girls?” Mine asked the other band members. “Could be louder. I mean, I DIDN'T HEAR SHIT!” The drummer yelled at all of them. This time, Chifuyu howled with everyone. “They sure love to howl for all of us.” The lead Guitarist said amused. “Well, we need to give them what they howled for, don't we.” Mine said seductive. “They all seem like... LOST BOYS!” Mine announced and that was probably the next introduction to the song. Because the other band members started to play. Right now, Chifuyu felt stupid that he never really listened to Okami, even though Baji-san said it was really good. Then again, this was the first time he listen to them and he was surprised how good they were live. Some more songs were played, when Mine suddenly took a moment. “Girls, I know you hate me doing this. But I need to do it.” She said to her fellow band members. “Do what?” The drummer asked confused. “Play THAT song.” Mine said like it explained everything. The rest of the band looked with a certain look at their vocalist. But then the rhythm guitarist started to play something and Chifuyu could see that this was exactly what Mine meant. The notes and words passed Chifuyu and for the first time during this show, everything just hit the right spot. And it showed a whole new Mine in his eyes. The lyrics sung about seeing someone and feeling their heart burst into fire again and it resonated with him. So much that he felt so in sync, he was sold. Okami was a band that would be added in his music collection. A couple songs more and the show was over. They had to go back to their tents, as this was a multiple day festival. It was just the weekend but that was fair. The last show was done and he could've chosen to go to the rock cafe but Chifuyu was also quite tired. That last show impressed him pretty much.
“So, what do you think?” Kazutora-kun asked. “Of?” Chifuyu asked suspiciously. “Okami of course. What else?” Baji-san commented. “They are really good. But this is the first time I heard them so I don't really know anything.” Chifuyu tried to wave it off but internally, he was so hype about Okami. He wished he knew about them before. “And say, the rhythm guitarist was smoking.” Kazutora-kun nudged. “Kazutora you are seriously blind. The keyboard player killed it.” Baji-san punched his best friend. “Actually, the vocalist was very sexy. Not gonna lie.” Chifuyu said casually as he took one step extra to get in front of both Kazutora-kun and Baji-san. “The vocalist? No, she isn't sexy. Cute maybe. But not sexy.” Baji-san said. “I do get Chifuyu's opinion. I mean, that chest area of hers does look huge.” Kazutora-kun commented. But to Chifuyu it wasn't just her chest. It was the whole picture. The tattoo's, the collar, the over-the-top scandalous wardrobe. And it looked like she didn't gave a shit. “Did you see she wore a collar. She could easily be leashed.” Baji-san said. “She must be often, she was all over the stage. I wanna know how her band mates keep up with that.” Kazutora-kun asked out loud. “Well, I'm going to the tent. See you tomorrow?” Chifuyu asked. “Depends, we're not going to make it too late. We still need to go home on time.” Baji-san said. “I'll find out when you get back.” Chifuyu said and walked towards the camping area.
The camping was pretty calm, a lot of people were still on the festival area. So Chifuyu didn't hesitate to grab his own bluetooth box and started to softly play something less heavy. Elton John sounded well. “So excuse me forgetting, But these things I do, you see. I've forgotten, if they're green or they're blue. Anyway the thing is. What I really mean.” Chifuyu softly sung along the song. “Yours are the sweetest eyes I've ever seen.” The voice of Mine sounded from behind him. Turning around quickly enough to hear some vertebrae crack, he saw the woman who he pretend-dated with. “I know the classics too.” She said calmly. Chifuyu couldn't believe it. “But, your band...” Chifuyu whispered confused. “Will try and get some poor guys numbers just for the chase of it. They always do that.” Mine said as she sat down in the chair next to him. “Not my style. I rather find something deeper.” She said easily and fished something out of her pocket. It was a cigarette. “You mind?” She asked before fishing out a lighter. “Normally I don't like it when people smoke. But you are the exception.” Chifuyu said calmly. “I must be a special person then.” Mine said with a soft smile. The songs Chifuyu played were slow romantic ballads and he could feel Mine lean against his shoulder. Not lighting the cancer stick yet. Chifuyu couldn't push her away and honestly he enjoyed the intimacy of this. “You are the first guy I met that I did this with. Normally I find girls who looks slightly lost or insecure and pretend to be their bestie for a day.” Mine confessed, after some silence. “Dressing them up and talk with them?” Chifuyu asked as he wrapped his arm around her. “The M.O is the same as I did with you. The only change was that you are a guy.” Mine snuggled a little bit closer. Chifuyu didn't know what to say to that. “A guy who is attractive, funny, cute, kind, loving and strangely enough still single.” Mine slightly joked. “What about you?” Chifuyu asked. “Dating and being a pretty big name in a certain genre is just not working out. I tried but most guys give up when they can't show me off. I'm in a band because I like being in a band. Not because I wanted to end up this famous. But that is the risk of it all.” Mine sighed. Chifuyu concluded that she was, just like him, single. “And of course the ADHD is most of the time a deal breaker. Especially when my meds are offline.” Mine huffed. “You mean when your inner squirrel wakes up?” Chifuyu joked. Mine sat up straight, looked him in his eyes and started laughing. “Yeah, exactly that. I never thought about it like that. I'll remind that.” Mine said entertained. “I'm just a cool guy with witty comebacks who hopes his future girlfriend would like.” Chifuyu reminded her of the word she had used when they met. “I'm sure she would. Else, she isn't worth your time.” Mine said as she caressed his cheek for a second. “Are you always this calm after a show?” Chifuyu asked her, noticing she was less all over the place than she was before. “Normally not. But normally I'm not with the person who I spend the day with in an intimate setting with romantic music and just calm and cool vibes.” Mine replied calmly, staring at the grass. Silence washed over them and Chifuyu couldn't believe how easy it was to talk to Mine, now that he knew who she was. “I should go. Before I fall asleep in this chair.” Mine said, yawning. She did look extremely tired. “You can stay the night. I have my own tent and a bed too big for myself.” Chifuyu suggested. Mine chuckled. “Smooth, trying to get me into your bed.” She said amused. “It's all up to you. If you want to sleep, we sleep. If you want something else, you can get it. I'm just offering.” Chifuyu said as he yawned as well. “Got an extra pillow?” Mine asked as she looked behind her, towards the tent. “I'm sure we manage to work something out.” Chifuyu said with a soft but tired smile.
The next morning, Chifuyu's phone woke him up. Right, they had to leave. As he reached out to his phone to turn the alarm off, he noticed that he was lying on bed alone. While he was sure Mine had spent in his tent. While he found it a shame, he could also understand. She must be back on the road with her band. Sighing, he opened the tent, seeing his friends had managed to find their tents back. Their shoes were outside of the tent, indicating they were in. Chifuyu stood up straight and stretched his whole body, feeling several pops. It was time to wake up a grumpy wolf and probably a cranky tiger. “Guys, wake up. It's morning.” Chifuyu said as he softly shook their tents. Kazutora-kun was the first to pop his head out of his tent. “Morning.” The eldest grunted. He looked like he had quite a short night sleep. Or just didn't sleep comfortable enough. “Morning.” Chifuyu greeted calmly and grabbed two cans of cola. Handing one over to Kazutora-kun. “How late did you get in?” Chifuyu asked interested. “Obviously way too late. But I did manage to flirt with some hot girls. Didn't get their numbers though. You?” Kazutora-kun reacted sleepy. “Hour after I came here. Managed to get the girl I was pretend-dating in my tent.” Chifuyu said proudly. “Fucking lucky. Good job.” Kazutora-kun said impressed. “You didn't fuck her.” The grumpy voice of Baji-san sounded roughly as the black haired male popped his head out of his tent. “You got me. But I did get her in my tent.” Chifuyu repeated. “Shame man, she looked okay.” Kazutora-kun commented. “What's that on your arm?” Baji-san asked as he pointed at Chifuyu's left arm. Chifuyu looked at it and saw that something was written with a marker. '09060711221.' Chifuyu hoped it wasn't permanent marker but he could only imagine who would've written that. “A phone number.” Chifuyu said smugly. “Fuck me, Chifuyu had more luck with the girls than we had, Baji.” Kazutora-kun moaned annoyed. “Well fuck. Guess we need to up our game next time.” Baji-san grunted. Chifuyu couldn't help but smiling. His friends apparently didn't notice that the number he had gotten was the number of the lead vocalist and apparently leader of Okami. Their favorite band.
Mineko managed to write down her personal number without waking Fuyu up. She had to get out of the tent before his alarm went off and she wasn't able to leave. And her friends/bandmembers would hang her if she didn't came back on time. The camping was silent, leave some very loud snoring people. But the sun was starting to rise so she should be going. When she arrived at the tour bus, one of her bandmates, Akina, looked at her with confusion. “Did you even sleep last night?” The eldest of the band asked as her emerald green eyes stared at Mineko, analyzing her. “I slept better than I ever did. Why do you ask?” Mineko replied confused. “Cuz it looks like you have been sniffing coke all night. And not the soda version.” Akina commented as she took a sip of her, probably, massively strong coffee. “Nah, managed to find someone who could handle me.” Mineko said with a wink. “Fucking slut. Knew you weren't all goody good.” Their drummer, Himiko, said as the blond stepped out of the tour bus. “Talking about goody good. Where were you yesterday? Normally you arrive earlier backstage. But now you were almost late?” The woman with glasses, Aiko, asked. “I was having the time of my life.” “You definitely fucked someone. No way you are this upbeat after a show.” Their lead guitarist, Kiriko, commented, sporting a cup of coffee. “She didn't. But she did had something going on. Else you wouldn't ask us to play heart burst into fire. You hate that song with a passion after Yamagata Satoru.” Nanako, their bass guitarist commented. “Just a guy who didn't belong here. But he was different.” Mineko said with a knowing smile. “What kind of guy?” Aiko asked, slightly ticked off. “A cool guy with witty comebacks and strangely enough no girlfriend.” Mineko shrugged. When they were well on the road, Mineko saw she had a message on her personal phone. 'So, ready to have a real date with a cool guy with witty comebacks who is still single?'
