Tornac wearing a "I'm not the stepdad, I'm just the dad that stepped up" shirt
Murtagh had that horse. The grey one. He named it after Tornac. But he'd had that horse since he was a calf, when Tornac was still alive, so the poor thing had to have a previous name.
I am thinking way too much about how old he was when he got him and what was his original name.
Tornac trained Murtagh to have both independent thought while also giving him the structured side of military and spec ops training to fall back on.
Brom, Eragon, and Murtagh all seem to have things for women who could easily kick their asses. How much we wanna get Tornac did too.

looks like we’re in a Murtagh Mood tonight y’all
i do hope paolini addresses murtagh's grief about losing tornac in the book from murtagh's pov. we obviously know how much he meant to murtagh, but aside from a line in book 1 about how murtagh felt "alone and filled with grief", his mourning for the loss of his foster father is never mentioned. it's super important, since it's traumatized, shocked, lonely, and heartbroken murtagh who helps eragon when he most needed it.
Some of the questions Christopher Paolini answered to me Part 1 :)
