In less silly news, we are smack dab in the middle of the highest risk area of central AL for the severe storms and likely high force, long-track tornadoes today, so we are in storm prep mode. I will update the blog when I can to let you know if we and the critters are safe. To any readers in the South, have everything ready NOW to relocate to a storm shelter or safer area of your house with your pets (if applicable) if you haven't already. We supposed to get some gnarly storms today. The clouds are moving so fast and this spooky af out here! I'm in a high risk area this afternoon so I'm excited to see some shit.

Make sure you're weather aware through the overnight hours! Severe storms - including tornadoes - are possible for parts of Oklahoma and parts of Texas. A concerning risk for spin-up tornadoes is expected across most of Oklahoma overnight from 1am - 7am when most people are asleep. These spin-up tornadoes will be embedded in a southward moving thunderstorm complex and could occur with little to no warning. Please have a way to receive warnings you can hear if you're asleep tonight

June is here and that also means that tornado activity is about to take a bump in the lower 48 (sorry!)

My friends over at livestormchasers have shared their average risk map for the month and it’s looking like the highest risk areas are going to include central Oklahoma to southwestern Minnesota, eastern North Dakota to western Pennsylvania, and parts of the Central Plains to Ohio. Florida's Peninsula also may see an increased risk with the start of the wet season.

Please remember that Weather can be unpredictable, so it’s best to always be prepared and be safe when extreme weather approaches!
