tfw the tornado sirens go off and you don’t feel like going to the basement so you go watch for it from the porch like a stereotypical Midwesterner.

Things people have said at the farm I work at
• No one is ever too old for anime
• This asparagus is itchy; I’m taking it off
• Fuck Jareth Labyrinth
• I can throw shit at him because he’s my friend
• Let me chuck this corn at you and you try to hit it with your machete ok?
• Why does okra hate me I just want to love it
• Why can’t I be the man he needs me to be? (After mowing everything except the one area he was actually supposed to mow and disappointing our boss)
• YO A SNAKE! (This comes from a large group of football players who came to help with cleanup after the tornado, loud shrieking and screaming ensues)
• This is why there aren’t goth farmers
• I think a rat died in that corner
No it’s just you
• My favorite McElroy is Griffin
You must have shit taste
• Awe man are we getting hit by another tornado??? I guess I’ll have to call my mom
•I hate kansas but at least the scenery is boring
• *chanting along to attack on titan them song*
•Guys I think I’ve never seen a lizard
PLEASE STAY SAFE, FELLOW KANSANS
IF YOUR FROM LINDEN I HOPE YOUR DOING OK.
I was at work in Lawrence an hr ago huddled in the bathrooms for safety. It wasn’t even at its worst in Lawrence and I was fucking terrified!
There are many types of people that live in tornado valley: 1. Take shelter in a storm cellar, closet, bath tub, etc. like any person with common sense would do 2. Get in their car and drive around to site see 3. Don't care and keep on watching tv and complain when the electricity goes out 4. "You hear that's it's thunder! Get in the storm cellar!!" (My Great grandpa) 5. Running to shelter as tornado chases behind them 6. "There ain't gonna be no nador" (few moments later) "get your shit and the dog and run for it" 7. In the cellar before you even see clouds (me) 8. Sitting on the back porch watching a tornado pass by 9. "Call Uncle Bob tell him to hurry up, get Grandma along with your 10 cousins and great aunt Jill, also don't forget the dog and then head down to the cellar" 10. Mowing the lawn because the ground will be to wet to do it afterwards (my grandpa) 11. Carries all electronics and family mementos in a bucket to the cellar 12. Drives to local convenient store to seek shelter in coolers 13. Running or riding bike to get exercise in (that would be my neighbor) 14. "I have to make a quick trip to Walmart first" 15. Thinks they are a professional storm hunter 16. Out of town person that freaks out like a scaring your cat from around the corner 17. Putting fence poles in (no joke I actually saw that once)
I slept on the bus last night on my 24 hour drive home, this morning we passed right through tornado valley when the storms and tornados were hitting. We made it out safe and I hope that all of you still there and in the other states getting hit stay as safe as is possible!
Oh look a tornado watch.
If the sirens go off I might turn on the news but thats about as much effort as I am going to put into caring about this.
