Made a tortoise table for a cb Hermanns Tortoise I got over the weekend. All the plants are live and safe for the turtle to eat if he wants to (succulents, lettuce, kale, pansies) and has uvb lighting and a basking spot over with the flat rocks. Several hides to choose from and underneath the reptichip is a dirt sand mixture deep enough to dig in. Once the water in the little pond sits overnight with the dechlorinator in it he'll be ready to go in tomorrow morning! The whole enclosure is 4x8 and will house him to his adult size. I'm also going to be working on an outdoor pen for when the weather is warm here.

Irwin got a new plont and some cork bark for stomping on to celebrate his recovery.

When my finances are in a bit better state I'm going to get him some more.

Mercury Vapor Bulbs?

Hey reptiblr, I'm curious as to what your thoughts are on using mercury vapor bulbs for UVB, light, and heat. I'm designing an enclosure for a Greek tortoise right now and I've heard a lot of different things about using them as the primary source of light and heat. Does anyone have any experience with MVBs? Are they a solid choice? Any brands/types that are recommended?

Finally got the bottom of the Tortoise Enclosure built! It’s 4’ long and 2’ wide. Now all that’s left is to build the electrical box, and the snake cage on top of it. (Yikes)
