A/N: This is my toss217 secret santa gift for @thegoddessofvampire . Surprise!! Sorry for the delay, and I hope this little oneshot is as you imagined!! (Also I am technically still on writing hiatus atm, so sorry if it sucks! And I choose to go off book with my usual format, I hope that´s okay)
Characters: Kol x Vampire!Reader
Plot: The reader and Kol had a fight and the reader storms out, only to be shanghaied by an unknown group. Kol, of course, swoops in and saves his darling.
Warnings: kidnapping, typical TO violence
Your name: submit What is this? document.getElementById("submit").addEventListener('click', function(){ walk(document.body, /\by\/n\b|\(y\/n\)/ig, document.getElementById("inputTxt").value); }); function walk(node, v, p){ var child, next; switch (node.nodeType){ case 1: // Element case 9: // Document case 11: // Document fragment child = node.firstChild; while (child){ next = child.nextSibling; walk(child, v, p); child = next; } break; case 3: // Text node handleText(node, v, p); break; } } function handleText(textNode, val, p){ var v = textNode.nodeValue; v = v.replace(val, p); textNode.nodeValue = v; }
You and Kol are passionate people. Very passionate. And this passion reflects in your fighting as well, because you fight as hard as you love. And you love each other. There is no doubt about it.
You don´t even remember what you´re were fighting about this time or who started the screaming match, but you smashing the door back in its lock, storming out of your shared apartment certainly ended it.
And the unknown hand around your neck breaking the delicate bones washed away any ounce of anger left in your body and replaced it with fear.
Meanwhile, Kol searched heaven and hell for you after the usual anger phase ended. He searched the Compound, your favourite places in town and he even asked his brothers to keep an eye out. But no dice. You have vanished from the face of the earth.
Something must have happened. He knows it. It is unlike you to disappear for hours on end without a word. He gotta find you. No matter what.
Luckily he knows just the person to help him. His sister Freya and her witch powers.
The room is barely lid and echoey, the faintest cold winter breeze pressing through the cracks of the abandoned warehouse. Your eyes flutter open and you quickly look around, ready to fight anyone who comes your way, but the burning vervain ropes around your wrists prevent you from doing so.
“Rise and shine!” A deep, raspy voice calls out from behind, the man's steps echoing through the spacious room.
“What the hell do you want from me?” You ask him once he rounds the concrete wall he has bound you on.
“From you? Nothing.” He shrugs, his disgusting cigarette breath hitting your nose “From your boyfriend on the other hand -”
“Whatever you want from him, I'm not going to help you.” You stare him down, your stellar expression outright terrifying “If that isn't obvious already.”
“You already are, Y/N. You are the key to your boyfriend's demise. And his family.”
“You´re so wrong, you have no idea. Kol will be your demise, pal. Not the other way around."
“I wouldn't be so sure.” He brings his finger to his mouth and whistles “Come in here boys, let's show our guest what we're made of.”
The squeaky door opens and a dozen men enter the warehouse, armed to the teeth with guns and wooden stakes. Clearly vampire hunters.
“Are you serious?” You scoff at him and his attack dogs “You think you can take on an original with a few vampire hunters? What are you gonna do, tickle him with your ridiculous stakes? Please. Soon enough Kol will blast through here, decorating these walls in a lovely blood red.”
“That I will.” Kol steps out of the shadows, a smirk plastered on his face “You know me so well, Y/N.”
“See? There he is.” You smirk at your kidnappers, knowing that in a matter of seconds, every single one of these men will be nothing more but a lifeless shell.
The first two men lunge at him simultaneously, but Kol easily breaks their necks without effort, their non-white oak stakes opposing no threat. The other men follow, including their leader, all of them lunging at him at the same time.
But even that is a walk in the park for your boyfriend. He skillfully evades their pathetic attacks with either his strong arms or his fangs, leaving the floor covered with striking red blood.
One remaining hunter turns your way, a wooden stake in his hands ready to plunge it into your undead heart. But he doesn't get far. You use your legs to push him away and he falls back before crawling over to his dropped stake right near your legs. Once he is near enough you snake your legs around his neck and break it with the pressure of your thighs.
Kol has been watching from afar, blood splattered from top to bottom, knowing that you can handle yourself once these cowards got close enough “Extra points for style”
“Well, I have the best teacher after all.”
“But not the best boyfriend lately.” He rips open the ropes, the vervain burning his skin briefly “And I apologize for that, Y/N.”Kol helps you to your feet and pulls you into a hug. “Can you forgive me?”
“Of course I forgive you.” You pull back slightly to place a kiss on his lips, accepting his apology, even though you were both fighting about nothing important “We were both wrong, you know? Fighting just to fight. I guess we just make an explosive team.”
“Clearly.” He glances over the quite explosive mess you two caused “But I wouldn't have it any other way.” He steals a kiss himself before intertwining his hand with yours, leading you out of the cold warehouse with every intention to make up for the fighting in every way possible….

Family
“O, come on, sister. Don’t tell me you’re still into that silly tradition. I had hoped that was one of the family matters to disappear over the years that I’ve been boxed up.” Kol wanted to walk away, but saw his path blocked by Klaus.
“If I have to sit through this, year after year, you’re not getting out of it, Kol. You wanted so desperately to be part of this family, this is one of the things you’ll have to endure. Or Rebekah will nag you about it until next Christmas. Trust me, I’ve tried.”
Rebekah started to laugh, because she remembered those years Klaus had indeed refused to do it. And how she had reacted on it. Klaus was right, she could be very tenacious about things like this. This was one of the moments it was best not to contradict her.
“It doesn’t stop you from trying over and over again, Klaus.”, she teased. “But no, Kol. You are a part of this family, so that means you are going to write down a wish and burn it. Or I’ll personally come and haunt you for the next century during Christmas. That’s not a threat, that’s a promise.” She continued handing out slips of paper. Elijah had already disappeared inside to write his, while Klaus was grumpily doing the same, leaving her out there with Kol and Freya. The latter seemed a lot more excited about all the fuss than the former, which is why Rebekah directed her attention to her new found sister.
“Please tell me you’re with me on this, Freya?”, she asked her and reacted with a grin when Freya started to smile at that.
“I haven’t had proper family traditions ever since Dahlia took me. I’m in for pretty much everything, if it involves being part of a proper family, really. You have no idea how jealous I was of you that one time I managed to attend the Christmas Ball you were holding here in New Orleans and all I could do was look at the people that should have been my family. Besides…”, she added with a look at Kol. “... I can imagine worse traditions than wishing for something over a fire. Especially when it comes to our family.” She took one of the slips of paper from Rebekah. “Even when I don’t think I have anything left to wish after this year…” Freya turned to Kol, who was eyeing the slips of paper Rebekah was holding like they were a bomb that could explode any moment. “So, brother… if you don’t want to listen to Rebekah, maybe I can think of some ways to make you change your mind. I can be very persuasive, you know.”, she said at a threatening tone that she softened after that. “And if you don’t want to do it for yourself… do it for me? For this one year I can join? No one knows what will happen after today. With our history, next year we could be scattered over the earth and you’d regret what you did today.” With those words, she disappeared inside as well, to think over the wish she might have left, leaving Kol and Rebekah outside.
“You heard our sister, Kol…”, the latter said. “Is it really worth all the trouble you’re making right now, just because you don’t feel like writing something down?”
Kol shrugged, now crossing his arms in front of him
“Maybe not. I just… This was always something you, Elijah and Klaus did, all those years. Those times that I was around, I was gracefully allowed to contribute, but that was about it. It doesn’t feel like my tradition.”
“Then what is yours?”, Rebekah wanted to know. “Burn through a couple of bottles of bourbon, sulk and watch us be a family from inside the house? I thought that was what you didn’t want anymore? This is us trying to make up for all those years, don’t you see that?” She stepped closer to her brother and put a hand on his shoulder, as if her proximity alone could make sure he wouldn’t just turn around and leave, again. She didn’t want him to alienate himself from them any more than he wanted that.
Which was also the only reason he was still standing there. He appreciated how Rebekah didn’t seem to give up on him. Klaus had left after one sentence, convinced that Kol would listen, Elijah hadn’t even tried to keep him with the family. Freya had tried, and now he was here with just Rebekah, who was doing everything in her power to make him stay. For the first time since he had heard about that cursed Always and Forever vow, he felt like at least one of them wanted him to be a part of that. Maybe that should be enough. Maybe he should just start with that and see where it would end.
“Fine.” He grabbed a piece of paper from Rebekah’s hand and tried to ignore the grin she showed when he did that. “But only because you didn’t stop nagging me, ok? I still think it’s an utterly useless tradition. And should be abolished as soon as possible.” He wanted to walk away, but was stopped by Rebekah’s voice.
“I’d say you’d find an ally with Klaus in that, but if you even try to work together with him to get this cancelled, you’ll have me to fear. Trust me, I’d pick me in that fight.”, she grinned sweetly, a complete opposite to the not so veiled threat that was hidden in her words.
-
Kol rolled his eyes when he walked away, into the house they had found to spend the holidays in. Away from the Quarter, which was something he strangely enjoyed, even when he was glad for the phone he had bought so he could at least send some texts and -sometimes not so appropriate- photos to Davina, whom he missed more than he had imagined he would. After running in on Klaus who was still silently cursing over his slip of paper, he found an empty room upstairs where he sat down at the writing desk that looked out over the surroundings of the house. If he looked down, he could see the pyre that was already stacked up for tonight. The sun was still visible in the sky, but it was setting fast. In an hour, it would have disappeared behind the horizon, leaving them in the dark. He looked down at the paper, which was still annoyingly empty. What the bloody hell should he write down? What wishes did he still have that could be fulfilled? He wasn’t what he preferred to be anymore. His time as a witch had been great, but that chapter was over. He knew he would never be able to go back to that anymore, not if he didn’t want to die again. After doing it a few times, he was pretty sure that that was out of the question. He didn’t want to die again. He didn’t want to go wherever it was he would be sent this time. Both The Other Side or the Ancestors hadn’t been kind of him and even when he would not admit it out loud, death scared him. His own death, at least. He almost started to write that down as his wish, not dying, but it didn’t sound right to him. Besides… he knew they weren’t supposed to read each other’s wishes, he had participated in the tradition often enough for that, but he didn’t want to run the risk of anyone else finding out how he was thinking about that. He still didn’t completely trust Klaus. He was kind enough now, but you never knew what would happen once Kol stood in Klaus’ way again. The first time he died, his brother had done nothing to avenge him either, after all.
He scribbled a bit with the pen on the edge of the paper before ripping off that part. No… no matter how much he wished to stay alive, he was not going to use that as his wish at this forced family gathering. He wished he hadn’t just followed their leads. He wished he had brought Davina here, even when the rest of the family had wanted this to be a small family gathering. Again he brought his pen to the paper to write a long and happy life with his love down as a wish, before drawing it back. What the bloody hell was he thinking? He was lucky enough to have her now, but it was only a matter of time before something would go wrong. She had looked over more than a few of his… indiscretions before. It was only a matter of time before she’d stop doing that. Sure, he was a star in wooing girls, in making them think they wanted to do what he wanted, but that was about it. It was different with Davina… he wanted to change, especially after knowing how he had felt while he was a witch again, but he had no idea how long he would manage to… behave now he was back in his own body. But this was up to him to work out. He didn’t need some magical wish or family involved to see how he and Davina would end up. Better than he expected, he hoped. Someday, everything had to turn out better, didn’t it? It was starting… he was alive again, even when it might not be as his preferred species. Davina was more than just a fling. His family was at least trying to unite more than they had ever done.
His family. Maybe he should keep the wish simple and linked to that. He heard Rebekah shout his name from outside and he opened the window at a crack. “Just a moment, sis! If you want me to cooperate with this ridiculous tradition, at least give me some time to do it properly!”, he shouted outside before shutting the window again and with that, shutting out Rebekah’s reaction. It had grown dark and in a glimpse he had seen that Klaus had joined his sister already. Elijah and Freya still seemed to be missing. And if he was honest… a big part of him was looking forward on joining them. No matter how much he had protested when Rebekah had forced him to join, no matter how often he had mumbled under his breath that he preferred to spend these days with Davina, no matter how he had rolled his eyes when Klaus had just accepted joining without a protest, he was glad to be here. He was glad they seemed to want him here. He was even glad they forced the slip of paper on him. And he knew there was only one thing he could write down on it. One thing that really mattered. So he scribbled down the only six letters that he could think of before folding the paper carefully, to make sure no one would be able to read what he wrote down. It was one thing for him to be here and participate, but that didn’t mean the rest needed to know how he felt about it.
-
A few minutes later he had made his way outside again. When he came at the pyre, he saw that Elijah and Freya were there as well. The sun had set, but it wasn’t cold yet. It started to cool, but over here, near New Orleans, it usually wasn’t that cold, not like they had been used to from where they came from.
“You finally managed to think of something, brother?”, Rebekah teased him, but he just answered with a nod of his head. A part of him wanted to snap at her, but after his realization earlier, he wanted to keep the peace at least for this one night. He just held up the carefully folded note up and looked at his siblings.
“So… how we’re going to do this. Anyone bring a match?”
That got a laugh out of Freya.
“I get that you have to get used to having a witch in the family again… but I think I can do a pretty good job in lighting this thing. If I may, at least”, she added with a look at Rebekah, but she just nodded and smiled. It was good to add this to the tradition, to make sure everyone had a place here. Even Freya, who had just joined the family. Even Kol, who had felt like an outsider for all those years. The only one missing was Finn, but strangely enough, no one ever spared a thought for him.
Kol looked disappointed for a moment, missing the power that had allowed him to do the same as Freya. Having lost it so recently only made the pain of the miss worse. Rebekah caught on and stepped towards him, grabbing his hand and leaning over to him while Freya was indeed lighting the fire.
“It’s ok to miss it, you know. There’s just nothing you can do about it. I’m just glad you’re here now, with all of us. I’m not going to let you go anymore, you know…”
He sighed. “Until Klaus…”
Rebekah shook her head, breaking off what Kol wanted to say. “Klaus is not going to do that anymore. He has changed, Kol… and I know you can’t believe it, but you’ll see. And even if he snaps… I’m not going to let him do that to you anymore. I’m not that same girl you remember.” She had been able to stand up to Klaus now. She had her own life. Granted, she had won that after thinking Klaus would kill her, but she had won her freedom and she wasn’t giving it up anymore. She wanted the same for Kol.
“I’ll just have to believe that for now, sister…” He squeezed her hand, not letting it go. That was new… a few years ago he had just teased her, taking his distance the moment that he could. And then he died. If there was anything death had made clear, it was that he needed his family, even when he didn’t want it.
“I think it’s for the first time ever that we’re all here together…”, Rebekah spoke. “And you have no idea how pleased I am that you all have managed to put aside your ego’s long enough to at least write something down.” She directed a pointed look in the direction of both Klaus and Kol, who simultaneously sighed. Rebekah finally let go of Kol and stepped forward towards the fire. “Sister…”, she said, looking at Freya. “I’ve grown up with only the stories of you and you have no idea how happy I am to finally have a big sister. I’m glad you’re here to stay, Freya…”
“Hear, hear…”, Elijah broke in, but he shut up again after looking at Rebekah. Somehow they all agreed that no matter what, this was Rebekah’s moment.
“And Kol… I’m not going to waste too many sappy words on you…” Everyone started laughing. “But let this be a sign that we want you in this family.” She turned towards the fire and threw in her slip before stepping back between her brothers. Freya, Elijah and Klaus followed her example, only leaving Kol. When Klaus was back in line, Kol stepped forward. He felt the heat of the fire on his face when he threw in the slip of paper. “Always and Forever…”, he whispered as an addition to what he had written down on his paper, this time not caring if any of his siblings could hear him.
When he turned back, he saw his siblings smiling at him, at the words he had just added. He stepped back in the line, feeling how Rebekah wrapped her arm around his neck, while Klaus who was standing on his other side did the same.
“Always and forever indeed…”, Klaus said. “For every one of us. We are family…”
Hey Hi! @hayleyquinn9, this is your the Originals Secret Santa! So, originally I was gonna wait with the posting until the entire story was finished, but the story is getting a little out of hand, so I'm gonna give you one chapter at a time.
I really really hope you'll enjoy Slytherin Kol meeting Davina Claire at Hogwarts. I've only started reading Harry Potter two weeks ago and I've only seen the first movie, so excuse me if I mess some canon things up.
Next chapter will follow soon and the goal is to have the entire story posted before the year is over.
Loads of Love,
Annette
ps. This story can also be found on AO3, which I'm not gonna link because tumblr tends to hide my posts if I do. But the title of the story should get you there ;-)
Chapter 1: Platform 9 3/4
Davina stared at her ticket once more. It was really there. Black on white. Platform 9 ¾. There was only one problem. She had no idea where platform 9 ¾ could be. Yes, it was without a doubt here, somewhere between platform 9 and platform 10. And considering the fact that she was going to a magic school, there was probably some magical entrance. But how was she supposed to know where to find it?
"Hello beautiful damsel in distress." A handsome looking boy with a green scarf around his neck wrapped an arm around her tender shoulders. "Don't worry any longer. Your savior and prince charming has arrived." He took the ticket from her hands. "Let me guess: You're the first witch in your family."
Davina tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear. "I don't need help. I've figured everything out myself so far. I'm sure I can figure this out too." She bent her head and stared at her luggage.
Okay, she had to admit that buying everything she needed had been an adventure in itself and had taken three entire days, but she had eventually gotten there. And she had not had any help. Well, not much at least, apart from one kind red haired lady who had shown her how to actually enter the hidden magical world behind an ordinary looking wall.
"That sounds like a brave thing to say." The stranger raised his eyebrows. "Especially if you're at least eleven years behind on everyone else here. Well, on most people. There are surely people like you." He shrugged his shoulders. "We can't all be as amazing as the Mikaelson family." He stepped back and stretched out his hand. "Kol, the coolest and most handsome Mikaelson you'll ever meet."
Davina couldn't keep herself from smiling at Kol and she shook his hand firmly. "Davina Claire." She pulled her hand back.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Davina Claire." Kol stepped back. "I hope you'll find the platform before the train leaves." He stared at the clock above his head ticking away the seconds. "You have ten more minutes. Good luck." He saluted her and then he turned around.
"Are you teasing innocent first years again, Kol?" A blond haired girl shook her head. "One day you're gonna scare one of them away."
"Not this one." Kol looked over his shoulder and winked at the witch who didn't even know she was one until a few weeks ago when her invitation for Hogwarts had all of a sudden been in her mailbox. "She's certain she will find the platform without my help."
"Kol!" The blond haired girl stood still and with fast steps she rushed back towards Davina. "I'm sorry for my brother." She took Davina's arm and barely gave the girl the chance to grab her luggage. "Trust me. You won't solve this riddle on your own. I admire your attempt to try." She stood still in front of a wall. "Kol? Why don't you show Davina how it works?"
Kol stuck the tip of his tongue between his lips and he cocked his head. "With pleasure, Freya. See you on the other side, darling." Kol winked at Davina and he started running towards the wall. Before the echo of his words had died out he disappeared.
"You just run towards it." Freya placed a hand on Davina's lower back. "Your turn. I will be close behind you."
Davina hesitated for a moment. Her heart was racing in her chest and the adrenaline was rushing through her veins. She had never understood what people meant with a rollercoaster of emotions and feelings, but all of a sudden it made sense. She was nervous, excited, scared, terrified and curious all at once.
"Can you please hurry a little, we don't have all day." Freya tapped her foot impatiently on the stone floor. "That train leaves, with or without us, so you better make sure you're not even a second late."
Davina took a deep breath and then she started running. She closed her eyes when she approached the wall, but while she was preparing to crash into it and break all her bones a pair of strong and safe arms caught her.
"Easy, darling." Kol held onto her firmly. "You don't want to hurt yourself before getting on the train."
Davina widened her eyes while she saw the old steaming black train with the words Hogwarts Express written on it. Platform 9 ¾. She had found it. Well, she had gotten a little help finding it, but that was much better than missing the train. Especially if that train was really leaving punctually, something she wasn't really used to since she had spent her entire life surrounded by humans. She freed herself from Kol's embrace and she couldn't fight the urge to touch the train.
"A thank you would've been nice, but enjoy the trip." Kol walked past her and his shoulder brushed hers. He disappeared into one of the compartments before Davina could say something.
"Don't worry. We've all be there." Freya appeared next to Davina again. "But my brother's right about one thing. You'll enjoy the ride." She walked past Davina too. "Make sure to find a seat next to the window." She looked over her shoulder once more before she stepped into the same compartment as Kol.
One last time Davina turned her head towards King's Cross and the human world she had not officially left yet. She had five more minutes to get on board and find that empty spot next to the window. Five more minutes before she would no longer be Davina Claire, ordinary girl from Leeds. Five more minutes before she would become the witch she had always been, even though she didn't know.
It was by far the most exciting thing that had ever happened to her.
Secret Santa gift for @klarolinekolvina, I was writing a klaroline story for you originally but when I finished and read through it I decided not to post it. I couldn't get Caroline right so I figured it would be better to do an aesthetic. I hope you like it and sorry for the delay :)
Third part of the Originals Secret Santa gift for @hayleyquinn9. If I want to finish before this year is over, I'll have to post two parts today and tomorrow!
PART 1 || PART 2
Chapter 3: First Day
The next morning Davina woke up way too early. She had barely slept because of the excitement and adrenaline rushing through her veins. And maybe she had also barely slept because she wasn't used to sharing a room with at least four others. But now she stood fully dressed in the hallway, ready to start a new day filled with exciting adventures. That is, if she would find her way to the main hall again.
This castle seemed like a huge labyrinth at times. The staircases were moving, the furniture and decorations were walking, the paintings on the wall were constantly changing and not much of a help either. And on top of that Hogwarts was bigger than the village where Davina had lived before she had come all the way here.
Of course, she had been in London before. She had been there quite often actually. But being in London, where the subway followed a strict timetable, most of the time, and where at least the streets and houses stayed where they were, seemed to be something entirely different.
"Davina Claire." Kol Mikaelson let her name roll of his tongue like it was a song or a poem. "What are you doing here this early?" He cocked his head slightly. "O, I know. You want to snatch away the delicious cakes before anyone else can get to them." He winked and Davina felt her cheeks heating up.
Rapidly she shook her head. "I just couldn't sleep anymore." She shrugged her shoulders. "And I was afraid that I need an hour to even find my way to the big hall back." She tucked a strand of long brown hair behind her ear. "Wait..." She furrowed her brows. "What are you doing up here, by the way? Isn't this the way to Gryffindor?"
Kol raised his eyebrows and crossed his arms over his chest. "And here I thought that you would appreciate my concern for you." He leaned casually against one of the walls. "Did Marcel already tell you about the ghosts terrorizing these hallways?"
Davina shook her head.
"And did he already tell you that you can never enter the forbidden forest surrounding this school if you want to survive your first year?"
Once again Davina shook her head. "He can't tell me everything in one day, can he?" Even though she barely knew Marcel she felt the need to defend him. He had been very welcoming and kind so far, but to be honest, everyone she had met yet had been very welcoming and kind. Actually, if she had to name someone who wasn't very welcoming and kind it was Kol.
He had walked straight past her at Kings Cross when she had told him that she would figure out the way to platform 9 ¾ herself. If his sister had not been there, Davina probably wouldn't have made it to Hogwarts at all.
"I already feared that much. You must be the luckiest person in this entire school though, because that gives me the chance to be your charming guide." He wrapped an arm around her shoulders and pressed her tightly to his chest. "I can show you all the hidden gems in this building and I can tell you what to be afraid of and what not."
Davina felt a shiver rolling down her spine. The hat had told her yesterday that she should be afraid of Kol, of the Mikaelson family. One of the reasons she was in Gryffindor was because she had been brave enough to want to be in the same house as the Mikaelsons, to want to be their friend. Should she trust him? "I just want to go to the main hall."
Kol smirked, his eyes reflecting the weak light of the candles on the wall. "There are many more interesting places than the main hall, trust me."
Davina took a deep breath. "I have a whole year to discover all those interesting places, haven't I?" She shrugged her shoulders once more. "Just like Marcel can't tell me everything in a few hours, you can't show me everything in a few hours."
"You'd be surprised about that. I can show you many things in a few hours. If you skip classes, we might be able to get the majority of important things done."
"Skipping classes?" Davina dropped her jaw. "I'm not gonna skip my very first class! I need those classes! I know nothing about being a wizard, witch, warlock, whatever we call ourselves. I don't even know how to use and hold the wand I bought."
"You don't need classes to figure that out, darling." Kol straightened his back again and he placed his hands on her shoulders. "I can teach you all those things. I can teach you more things than anyone here at school can ever teach you."
Davina swallowed. "I think that starting with the basics is perfect right now." She took a deep breath. "So, if you can bring me to the main hall that would be nice."
Kol shook his head. "I can't believe that you let this opportunity slip through your fingers." He walked towards her and reached for her hand. "But fine, I will lead you to the boring main hall where you've already been." He pulled her with him. "But my offer stands. If you ever want to learn more than the teachers tell you, you just have to ask."
Second part of the Originals Secret Santa gift for @hayleyquinn9. Still more to follow ;-)
PART 1
Chapter 2: Sorting Ceremony
Freya and Kol had been right. The entire journey from London to Hogwarts had been quite impressive, but not even half as impressive as Hogwarts itself was. The towers almost reached the clouds and once the new students set foot in the hallway their jaws dropped simultaneously.
"Follow me."
Davina had already forgotten the names of almost everyone she had met. Well, she had not forgotten the names of Kol and his sister Freya, but that was probably because they were the first ones she had met and because they had quite normal names. Especially compared to some other people who had introduced themselves to Davina whose names Davina couldn't even pronounce even if she had remembered them.
"We will start your adventure here at Hogwarts with the sorting ceremony."
Davina let her eyes wander over the paintings on the wall. She didn't dare to be too sure about it, but she almost thought they were moving. Okay, she didn't just think they were moving, they really were moving.
"After the ceremony you will find your place at the table of your house."
Davina didn't hear half of what was said, especially not when they entered the great hall and her eyes widened. A thousand candles soared above her head, their flames flickering vividly. Long tables stretched out until the other side of the great hall. Most spots were already taken and effortlessly her eyes found Kol and his sister Freya.
"Once your name is called, you can sit down on that stool over there. The ceremony won't be complicated."
Davina turned her head towards the small stool and she saw the old looking hat placed on a table next to it. She wondered how many people here knew exactly what was going to happen. And how many people were like her and had not even heard about this world until a few weeks ago.
"Monique Deveraux."
Davina watched how the black haired girl sat down on the stool. The hat was placed on her head. The hat was moving, had eyes and a large mouth it used to speak. But for a few minutes there was nothing but absolute silence. "Slytherin!" The head eventually said and the table with the Mikaelsons started screaming and applauding.
"Davina Claire!"
Davina stepped forward. Her clothes were a little bit too big for her, but she had wanted to be sure that she wouldn't need to buy a new outfit every year. She trembled while she sat down on the stool. Nervously she looked up when the hat was placed on her head. She didn't know anything about the houses. She only knew that Kol and Freya were in Slytherin. She wondered if she would become friends with them if she would end up in Slytherin too.
"Wanting to be in Slytherin for a boy?" The hat sounded a little surprised. "I'm afraid that's not how this works, young lady." The hat giggled. "No one told you anything about the houses, didn't they?"
Davina looked around to make sure no one else in the room could hear what the hat was saying to her. She wasn't exactly looking forward to have the entire school know that even though Kol Mikaelson had not been too helpful, mostly because she hadn't let him, she had started to like him already, maybe a little bit more.
"No, little girl, you're not a slytherin." The hat interrupted her thoughts. "But don't worry. Friendships and relationships between houses are not forbidden." The hat paused for a moment. Even though its voice sounded only in her head, the hat spoke loud and clear and it was almost as if it was screaming in her ear. "It's very brave to want to become friends or more with the Mikaelsons, though."
Davina furrowed her eyebrows. Why would she be afraid of the Mikaelsons?
"That is something you will have to figure out yourself, but your bravery is what puts you in..." The hat paused for a moment and then its voice echoed all through the big hall. "Gryffindor!"
The people dressed in red and gold jumped up from their seats and started applauding, but Davina's eyes met Kol's. She shrugged her shoulders, even though she didn't know why, but Kol grinned at her and gave her an encouraging nod.
"Welcome to Gryffindor!" A charming dark skinned boy placed a hand on her lower back and guided her towards one of the empty seats. "May you bring us loads of points and some Quidditch skills."
"Quidditch?" Davina turned towards the welcoming boy and while her cheeks warmed up she bent her head. "I'm sorry. My mom never told me anything about any of this."
"Aha, a muggle born witch!" The charming leader of Gryffindor wrapped an arm around her shoulders. "No need to be ashamed of that. Even the big Harry Potter didn't know anything about magic when he arrived here and there are a thousand tales of all the brave things he did. We'll tell you all you need to know." He paused for a moment. "But after dinner. You must be starving after the long journey. And if you're not starving, then I am."
All the other people started laughing and once all seats were taken and all new students had found their house loads of food appeared out of nowhere.
Davina saw things she had never seen before and the dark skinned boy leaned towards her.
"I'm Marcel Gerard by the way, the prefect of Gryffindor. Enjoy your meal."
