Okie doke, so. My reactions are still longer than I feel is “correct” but they aren’t full on one shots. (they could be, I could flesh any of these further out and there’s a couple I really want to) Anyway here’s half of the 14 I didn’t do one-shots for. Hopefully I’ll have the other half soonish.
The Prompt ; The boys react to stumbling on their soulmate being attacked on the road? SM is putting up a hell of a fight but she’s not stronger than three men and is getting the snot kicked out of her?
Undertale Sans/Ace – Ace really has no idea why you're being jumped right now, and he really doesn't care. You're getting shortcut out regardless. Most likely to a nearby friendly bar/inn. He'll apologize for grabbing you suddenly, ask if you're ok, and if he can help. The gangs good rep in the area is probably the only reason you aren't freaking out right now. Afterwards, you'll probably see him around more often. He'll just “happen” to be where ever you are. Heading to the general store, oh what a coincidence there he is. Grabbing lunch at the saloon, wow what a surprise seeing you here. It probably should weird you out but he's always so funny and friendly. You find you don't mind his company at all. It'll take awhile before you get an explanation, but by the time he brings up the whole “soulmate” deal, you're already smitten.
Undertale Papyrus/Lief – Oh dear, this won't do. You've been backed into a corner and those men don't seem interested in leaving peacefully. Of course, that's exactly what they end up doing. Before you can realize what's happened Lief has inserted himself into the altercation. By the time he's done lecture-talking at the men, they're sheepishly apologizing and acting like they're all old friends. When the tall skeleton turns to you however, its with gentle concern. He'll check first on your physical health, before making sure you aren't too shaken up. Once you're settled he'll spend sometime just speaking with you. First to ensure you are going to be safe from here on out, then just about whatever comes to mind. He'll make a promise to see you again soon, and he keeps it. He spills the soulmate info pretty early on, but everything about being with Lief feels so natural, you don't think it makes that much difference.
Underfell Sans/Chisel – He doesn't even really think about it, he just shortcuts right into the middle of it and starts swinging. He's strong, and doesn't pull his punches at all, so the idiots that attacked you are down pretty quick. Once hes sure they aren't getting back up he approaches you. He's a bit awkward about it but you can tell he means well. He offers to get you a doctor if you need it, or a drink if you want it. If you're too beat up he'll insist you see someone and if you refuse to see a doctor he'll offer to have someone from camp heal you. If you're still on your feet and just wanna forget the whole thing, he's happy to drink with you. You'll find yourself with a new drinking buddy, somehow showing up even long after the gang leaves the area. He never does tell you about being soulmates, even if you mention feeling weirdly connected to him. He'll actually panic and shortcut away if you bring it up. It ends up being his brother that explains it to you, and you tease him about worrying too much.
Underfell Papyrus/Spur – You were working at the local saloon as a server. You were quick on your feet and seemed to remember what everyone was drinking no matter how many people were there. Spur tried to blame his being impressed on you being his soulmate and not that you were hard working and clever. When he noticed the men slipping out the back after you, he was quick to follow. You held the apparent leader of the bunch at bay with a knife you'd had hidden, but they had you cornered. Spur didn't hesitate to intervene. He was impressed by how well you'd held your own but he wasn't going to risk you getting hurt. He took care of the ruffians quickly and efficiently, and while you were sure they all had several broken bones, the groaning told you they'd survived. Barely. Spur approached you carefully, asking if you were alright and if he could escort you back inside. After that he's in the saloon every evening. He won't disrupt your work, but will talk to you as often as business allows. You find yourself growing attached to the skeleton, and are quite sad when he says the gang is moving on. Its the first time you've seen him awkward as he carefully explains that you are soulmates, and he'd like for you to come with them. You're a bit surprised, but can't deny the connection, and agree easily.
Underswap Sans/Scout – He'd been feeling out a rival gang's hideout when he noticed you. A trio of men were dragging you into camp and you were clearly not pleased. You were putting up a hell of a struggle, but it looked like you'd already taken quite a beating and were quickly wearing out. He ultimately decides to run off script, and sets one of the encampments buildings on fire as a distraction. When he appears next to you he's startled both by the way his soul suddenly reacts, and by you suddenly collapsing. In a panic he grabs you and makes his getaway. He teleports directly back to the main camp, and insists on you being healed. It takes you a few hours to come around, but you seem mostly fine now. You're jumpy and quick to assume you've traded one captor for another. He explains that you are soulmates, but that you're free to leave whenever you choose and he can even escort you to town, but he'd really like to get to know you. You're a bit skittish at first, but Scout is friendly and kind, and he did save you so you figure you can spare him so time. You never actually end up leaving camp like you meant to.
Underswap Papyrus/Piper – He's walking aimlessly around town when you're literally thrown into him. He somehow manages to keep you both upright, but is a bit dazed. His soul's going crazy right now and isn't sure how to handle it. The yelling brings him back into reality. He's still supporting you, an arm loosely around your lower back and the other hand settled on your arm. The shouting man approaches aggressively and Piper smoothly moves you behind him. He didn't miss the way you flinched or the way your eye is starting to swell. It takes effort but he stays fairly calm as he talks the man down, though finding out that this is your father makes his stance harden a bit. Eventually you disgrace of a parent decides to wipe his hands of you and informs Piper that you aren't welcome in his home any longer and he better never see you again. You're quiet as Piper escorts you across town, and seem to be in shock even as you agree to go back to camp with him to be healed and decide what to do next. You don't have a lot of options, and everyone is so kind, so you stick around for awhile. You end up quite charmed by Piper, and isn't until you've been in a relationship for awhile before he sheepishly admits you're soulmates.
Fellswap Gold Papyrus/Cirrus – This poor bean. This is just, a lot, happening all at once. He may not feel like he's prepared to handle this, but he really is. One moment you're being backed up against a building, and the next you're suddenly on the other side of a very much solid wall. You can still hear you're attackers shouting through the brick. Your savior looks exceedingly nervous, but also rather determined. He's stuttering out apologies, and his explanation is a muddled mess. But he seems sincere. Reassure him and he'll offer to guide you somewhere safer. This is his town, and he knows every nook and cranny. Accept, and he'll be turning up with new supplies every day. By the end of the week you're questioning your resolve to ever leave.
