[He Moved So Quickly. I barely got him.]

Ren: …

Ren: You…

[He leapt and slammed me against the pole.]

Ren: I WAS HELPING YOU.

[I gripped the knife and tried to get it between us.]

[A clawed hand slashed at my wrist, and the knife fell uselessly to my side.]

[I couldn't react before another blow landed on my chest.]

[I slid down to the ground, trying to shield myself from his attacks with my arms.]

[A hand lashed out and grabbed my head, then slammed it into the concrete floor.]

Alex: Wait! Stop! St-

[A balled fist hit me in the gut]

[I wheezed trying to speak]

Alex: Please…I give up!-

[I screamed as his claws dug into my bandaged arm.]

Ren: You think you can try to kill me and then call 'time out'?

Ren: Maybe I should let Strade finish you off.

Ren: He can cut little bits off of you and make you swallow them.

Ren: And I'll be upstairs in a bubble bath, listening to you cry and choke.

Ren: And when you finally stop, I'll make some fucking popcorn.

Ren: Did you know he has cameras down here?

[A laugh from the stairs interrupted us both]

[We both stared, paralyzed by the third figure emerging from the darkness.]

[His eyes were locked on Ren. The question wasn't for me.]

Ren: Alex tried to kill me…

Strade: Really?

[Strade gave me an appraising glance, but kept his attention on Ren.]

Strade: Hmm.

Strade: Why would Alex try to kill you?

[This time he focused on me.]

Alex: Because you kidnapped me! You tortured me and left me in this fucking basement!

Alex: You're going to kill me if I don't do something.

[Mixed emotions battled with the adrenaline inside me.]

Alex: Look it wasn't…his fault. Okay?

Alex: I just don't want to die.

[Strade's laugh abruptly cut off my train of thought.]

Strade: Maybe I've asked my question wrong.

Strade: Ren.

Strade: Why would Alexander be able to try and kill you.

Ren: …

Ren: I…

Ren: Because I came downstairs into the basement…while you have a "guest."

Strade: That's right!

Strade: And why would you do that?

Ren: I just…

Ren: wanted to talk to somebody.

[Strade took a moment to think about Ren's reply.]

Strade: You were lonely, weren't you?

Ren: …

Strade: Ah, yes. I can tell~

Strade: You were lonely, so you came to speak with Alex.

Strade: Only to be attacked!

Strade: I can see why you'd be angry.

Ren: …

Strade: I think you should finish this fight.

Strade: It wouldn't be right for me to take it from you, after all that.
