🌾 = my opinion on OCs

     I play two OCs myself, and it’s fun when you have the liberties to develop a character without canon restraints. Some OCs (like yours) are even more developed than a lot of “canon” characters. To me, there’s no distinction between canon characters and OCs, only the skill of the writer.

     There are canon characters that are one dimensional, but under an RPer becomes so much more developed. Especially since canon RPers only have canon material to interpret. I feel that OC RPers have a lot of creativity and leniency to make a character more developed while canon RPers have limitations.

     But sometimes that creativity kind of gets carried away. The original character becomes a Mary/Gary Sue or an Edgelord™ without the proper development. However, there’s a lot of canon characters that suffer from the same mistakes in their canon material. So really, what’s the difference?

     I don’t usually differentiate between original characters and canon characters too much, I just look at a character and think “huh, that’s a well written character.” There’s no better or worse, it all depends on the writer. :)
