Though the Light and Knight Dragons's bodies emit a glow, it is not that useful in helping them see things in the distance. Their eyesight is keen enough in most circumstances, but not all.
The Knight Dragon adapted, however. Rare times when he was apart from the Light Dragon, he would roar and listen for her roaring back to figure out where she was.
Soon after, he began to use his roaring in another way. If he ever becomes disoriented in a fierce storm at night, he will roar and use echolocation to get his bearings. The Knight Dragon's sensitive ears can pick up any rebounding sound and determine if he or the Light Dragon are in danger of crashing into anything, like a mountain or the sky islands, and change course accordingly.

Day 1: headcanon for how an unexplained aspect of a fantasy race's anatomy works
I'm going with the Zonai's horns in totk. This is something a friend and I have talked about.
We think their horns are likely either a vestigial trait of some kind (what they think) or meant to deter small animals from perching on their heads which could harm the third eye (what I think). I think depending on the toughness and amount of nerve endings, it could also defend against being hit in the head by larger objects (falling material perhaps?) Or because they're pointed upwards, maybe a siphon for receiving magic/blessings
since wolf link isn’t present in totk I thought of another hc. After botw link and his adventure with the big wolf, Link started to adopt dogs. He named one of them wolf after his friend.
