💙Despite her namesake the willowy widow was more like a naughty kitten, something she proved with the way she took up a perch on the edge of the table. Her sleek frame leaning casually back on one arm, while her free hand idly scrolled through her phone; completely tuned out from the room around her. That was until she felt the soft touch of someone's fingers grazing over her porcelain hand, pulling her pale blue eyes from her phone curiously to see whomever it was that touched her. Instantly making her gaze slowly climb up from his hand to the handsome face it belonged to, before letting a soft sensual smile slip over her cherry painted lips. "Hmmm, bonsoir, ingénieur. I don't zink I've seen jou around before."
Hello there! These are both so nice so I tried to combine them (sort of). Hope you like it!

"I'm against it."
Theo's voice reverberates throught the room, slicing the charged, stony silence. You're almost impressed how his voice doesn't betray any emotion. However, you know him. You know, from the way he's averting his gaze, that his control is slowly slipping away. He can't even look at you right now. You sigh.
"It must be done and I'm the only one who..."
"Bullshit."
You wince. If someone who didn't know your language was here, they would surely think that Theo presents you his weekly supply list. That's how casual he seems. That's how mad he is.
"I made my decision. And you, of all people, should understand why this is important."
He slowly leans on the edge of the desk and you think you can feel the temperature drop. You instinctively raise from your seat.
"Theo. Look at me."
You're met with silence.
"Theo?"
"Is that an order?"
Excuse me?
You hear something snap inside your head and you try to control your breathing, as all the blood rushes to your head. In an instant, you're just inches away from him. His eyelashes flutter slightly and you almost curse yourself for thinking how beautiful he is, even at this moment.
"Say that again", you whisper, between your teeth.
"I asked. Are you giving me an order?", he spits out bitterly, still looking at his feet. "You made your decision. You're the leader and I can't do anything about it. If that's how you want it to be..."
"I'm not listening to this, damn you!", you almost shout, turning towards the door.
He instantly grabs your hand, spinning you around and by the time you realise what's happening, you're already being pushed against the desk. He pins you down, crushing his lips against yours and you grab him by the collar, just to pull him closer. You should stop this. You can't stop this.
Every touch leaves you breathless as you take in his anger, making the ache inside your chest even stronger.
"Theo...", you softly say, breaking the kiss. "I'm sorry..."
"No", he stops you, cupping your face with his hands. "Don't. I don't want you to be sorry. I want you...I want you to promise me you'll return safely. Back to me."
His last words are merely whispers and when he raises his gaze you understand why he avoided your eyes. He looks so scared. This is not your advisor. Not a diplomat. This is a man that has to witness his lover putting themselves in danger. You lean into his touch, closing your eyes.
"Nothing can stop me from coming back to you, Theo. This is a promise."
You know how when you read something over and over again you see it come apart and maybe feel like it's not as good as you thought it was the first few reads? THAT DOESN'T HAPPEN WITH TOUCH I LOVE THAT SHIT SO MUCH I AM SURE I READ IT AT LEAST TEN TIMES NOW AND IT'S SO GOOD
Anon, you have no idea how much I actually needed to hear this. I’ve been reflecting on ‘Touch’ lately and struggling with the earlier chapters (before I knew where the story was going to go). This has really made me feel so much better. A part of me still wants to go back and rewrite chapters 1-4 (maybe 5?) to make it the way I envision it now, but it makes me so happy to know that it’s still so loved as-is in its current form.
Once again, thank you so much, and I’m glad you still love it!
And I definitely plan to continue it... just... hit a slump. But hoping that writing for it again will help me rekindle all of my excitement for it, and comments like these really, really help.
Hi! First of all, I want to say I absolutely love your story Touch ❤️ It’s beautifully written and I enjoy the way you write Dabi and the MC’s character/dynamic. It really pulls me in and always makes me look forward to another update!
Second, I actually have a question in regards to Touch. Obviously if it’s too much of a spoiler you can simply avoid this or not bother answering, I’d completely understand! But is there a high chance of this story working out for the two characters? Not saying like a cliche happy ending or anything but like a positive end to their relationship?
Thank you for your time and keep doing what your doing!
Hello anon! Thank you so much for your ask! I’m so glad you’re enjoying the story so far!
As for your question... I totally understand why you’re asking this. A lot of angsty stuff has happened, and the story is nowhere close to finished; so it’d be nice to know sort of what to ‘expect.’ Do they eventually get a break and get some happiness? Or is our heart going to be ripped out and stomped on?
So first, here’s the short of it:
I want there to be a happy ending; it’s tentatively planned out that way. But I make no promises, because writing is changing, transforming art.
And now, the long of it:
I’m not one to write angst simply for the sake of writing angst. I think angst is a great tool for exploring and pushing character growth and progressing a plot (and it keeps the story realistic) - but I, personally, want there to be a purpose for it and for that growth to end in something positive.
I absolutely want there to be a happy ending and plan to make one... I just have to figure out how. I literally have the very last scene in my head, and it’s really just a matter of how to get from point A to point B with all that happens in it. I want to keep it as realistic as possible (within the realm of self-indulgent fanfiction), so as such it’s going to take a long time to get there. I’ve got the first part of the story outlined more thoroughly than the second half; second half has quite a bit in it, but I’m still fine tuning some important details.
That being said, I don’t want to make any promises because while I have an overall idea of the plot, sometimes things change. Writing is half planning and half creativity. Sometimes things might deviate from the original plan because it makes sense, or the characters have developed together in a way that I might not have anticipated. So... we’ll see!
I've read "Touch" like 5 times and it just keeps getting better, you have such an overflow of talent thank you for taking the time out of your life to write this piece, it's truly spectacular.
5 times?! Holy cow! I’m both impressed and incredibly flattered!
Thank you for your super sweet note <3 It’s always wonderful hearing from my readers from time to time. I hope things are going well for you!
John over at the short Texan from her chair across the work table, and carefully took a finger across the blonde's chin as she worked on the blueprint spread across the table. After a short moment of her companion still being engrossed, John carefully tapped Kettle's nose, and rested her hand on the shorter woman's wrist. (;u; sorry if I shouldn't, you don't have to respond)
( SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEAMS!!!!!! ////∇////♥ Aaaaaah I WILL respond to this you--! You precious hhhng! )Little Kettle turned to her, giving a bright smile. "Hold on there, pardner, what did you drink this time?" She randomly asked, chuckling.
Is there such a thing called Body Touch Training where you try to touch around the bird's head, wings, feet, and back to get them to be more comfortable with physical contact with you more like them not minding you to touch them? I know you can't pet them due to hormonal triggers but saying if there is such a thing is all and how to start off. My bird is fine with head scratches when she wants them the most on her own but like her to get used to me touching her without any fear.
Yes there is but you do have to be very aware of their body language, a bird allowing you to touch anywhere other than the head is a very cautious process that can quickly turn sour if you start pushing their boundaries. This post is talking about them letting you open their wings but the same sort of concept applies. Start with the hands far away where they’re comfortable, reward for comfortable body language and very gradually work your way closer, don’t come from above them and don’t come from right below them you’ll want to be either at their side or a little bit below eye level so they don’t see you as as strongly of a threat. When you are able to contact them don’t start petting or hold your hand there too long, start with a gentle touch and work up to longer durations very slowly. If the bird every pushes you away, lowers their body, opens their beak or shows other signs of discomfort remove your hands, we want them to know that using these methods of communication to tell us they don’t like what we’re doing works, otherwise they will escalate to biting since it’s the only way to make us listen.
