Test your knowledge with this international destinations quiz. Do you know the answer to this question? A hint, it is not three of the Jackson Five. ;-)
Ohiooooo noooooooooooooo
I'd love to know 13,16,29,38, and 41. Plus 32 for Story Time!
..13: what’s something that made you smile today? My sister and I went to go and meet a baseball player from our MLB team, and also got to meet the guy that calls the games on the radio - Tom Hamilton, who is THE BEST in the business. He looked at us and goes “You two look like trouble” and I replied with “You’re not the first person that’s said that…” and he laughed and Shane Bieber laughed and we all laughed and it was fun. ALSO. I smiled at the thought that we’re going to a game tonight with a GIANT group, are doing a Hawaiian themed night at the ballpark just for us, and my favorite Canadian friend drove down to spend the weekend with us for the game/the golf tournament/a 5k glow run/just for fun.
16: what’s your favorite pasta dish? This how I imagine parents feel when they’re asked to pick their favorite child. I truly love all pastas, and won’t say no to a single one… I love ravioli. I love alfredo. I love spaghetti. I love lasagna. BUT, I think that my ultmate favorite is mac and cheese, because there’s so much you can do with it. It’s the ultimate comfort food, there are so many flavors… it’s just delicious no matter when you eat it or how you eat it.
29: what’s something really cute that one of your friends does and is totally endearing? Hmm. Speaking of my Canadian friend - he spoke ONLY French up until he was about 15… and then decided that he was going to teach himself English… so he’s still got a lot of issues when it comes to using English phrases and jokes and stuff. So, instead of saying “girls”, he says “womens”, and it just makes me laugh every single time.
32: tell us a story of something that happened to you after 3AM when you were with friends. There are a LOT of these. But I’m going to focus on one from when I was in college with my friend Guy. We were hanging out in my dorm room, and he decided that he wanted a Monster… but wanted to drive off campus to get one, because we were super bored. So… we got in his car, drove to a gas station, and kept going. He and I were best friends - should have dated but never did - and this was common for us - just to get in the car and GO, before coming back in time to make it to work or to our early classes. I went to school at Ohio State’s Columbus campus… and this night, we drove and drove and drove to Monroe, Ohio (about 90 minutes away) … to get pictures with this giant statue on the side of a church that was affectionately called “Touchdown Jesus” (see picture below). We made it back to campus in time for breakfast, went to class and then I think both of us literally collapsed into bed at like 11 am.
Touchdown Jesus got struck by lightning in 2010 and burned down, and Guy passed away in 2012… so this is a very, very treasured memory for me.
38: tell us about your pet peeves! People that don’t know how to drive the vehicles they are driving. If you have a truck, don’t drive it like a Focus. If you have an SUV, don’t drive it like a damn sedan. If you can’t pull into or out of a parking space, DONT TRY. I hate when people drive UNDER the speed limit especially when the weather is fine. I hate when people don’t use their damn turn signals. THEY ARE THERE FOR A REASON. I hate people that don’t consider others. I HATE when people try to cut in lines or push through crowds - especially at concerts. It’s not my damn fault you didn’t get here until 10 minutes before doors, Beth. You’re not getting to the front row, sorry. I am easily irritated, so it’s… kind of a case by case basis.
41: what’s the last book you remember really, really loving? The last book that I read that I truly loved was The Fireman by Joe Hill. The concept was amazing, and I honestly truly wish that Dragonscale was real, because I’d be soooooo interested to see what my designs would look like.
