An Unfortunate Event
When first arriving in Germany, Melody was expected to meet with a dignitary to talk of trade relations. Upon arrival though she was informed that these meeting had to be pushed back and that they would have to reschedule. Melody was not too sad about the news, it just meant that instead of staying the week as she had planned, she would be heading back to Grenlen. She sighed, walking forward in thought. That was going to be a long way home.
She took a deep breath of the crisp air, lifting her skirts up to avoid mud collecting along the hem. At some point Melody saw the amount of effort that Colette had to exert in attempt to rid the gowns of dirt stains. There was a twinge of guilt that pulled at her, and compelled her to be aware of the stains she incurred. To get away from her guards and their incessant complaining Melody had taken to the woods.
Since there had been an absence of water in her life as of late she had taken to being close to nature as often as possible. It made her feel alive, and a part of something bigger than herself. That was how she found herself covered under the hanging leaves of the trees above. She smiled, slipping her shoes off without a sound.
Melody continued on for awhile, before stopping, a bad feeling crawling over her skin and causing a pit in her stomach. She listened, pressing her lips together into a thin line. "Is -- Is someone there?"
