I've been debating whether to share this latest life development, one of those "that'll never happen to me" until it does moments, but in quick research I feel it's important to encourage my fellow Y chromosome buds to be proactive with their health. I'm glad I listened to @vancityreynolds @deadpoolmovie when he recommended to #touchyourselftonight because now my Wonder Twins are separating, my Tomax is leaving my Xamot, my Robin is leaving my Batman, my #yogatuneup ball sack will soon be "half off". I was diagnosed with testicular cancer last week, got x-rayed to see if it's hit my lungs (cause apparently that's where it usually spreads next - weird) but hopefully caught it early, & will be having removal surgery soon. Public health campaigns: #TouchYourselfTonight
It has become almost common place in the modern day to look to the internet for answers when it comes to our health, this can lead to very bad things but over the years we have seen many successful heath campaigns emerge.
Some organizations band together with a celebrity or brand to help gain attention for their message.Some have even chosen to piggyback of another advertising campaign knowing it will gain a lot of views that they would not have received organically. One such campaign is the #TouchYourselfTonight campaign that was a relatively small part of the Deadpool movie video/trailer campaign. It shows the anti-hero making funny puns and double entendres whilst also giving helpful medial advice on how to check for testicular cancer. There is even a version for women to look for breast cancer. While many would say this campaign is cheap and not informative it is actually one of the most brilliant we have seen in many years. Deadpool was highly anticipated and the team uncharge of the social media campaign were phenomenal, they has many different trailers and videos, images, hashtags and even a huge billboard all before the films release in 2016. Amongst the hilarious trailers were these informative videos and due to the fact that the Deadpool campaign was gaining so much attention the videos were shared across the world by thousands of people. So the addition of this to normal strategies helped spread awareness and perhaps may have saved lives too.

So adding humor and the weight of a top selling film to your campaign can be vastly successful. This was definitely a fantastic choice by the Deadpool team and I cannot wait to see if they continue this with Deadpool 2 in 2018.
