Many of you may be seeing these crystal on IG the last few months. People are referring to them as Blue Mist. To set the record straight, these are a newer find of Amphibole Quartz. The yellow coloring you see at the base of many of the crystals is Iron. An Amphibole is a double strand of Tetrahedra Silicate which is actually Quartz, so in reality it is Quartz, included with Quartz! That is the “Mist” you are seeing. At 40x magnification you will also see Hematite and Mica inclusions. We have spoken directly with the miners of this and they have actually done the testing to see the Mica and Hematite.
