I have both a new idea and an old idea.
Some of my followers may remember a comic I made way back called "Toxic Lab". A good handful of people really liked it, but for whatever reason I lost my passion for it. I don't know, it just never felt quite right. Recently though, I had the idea to remake it! Start again, from the top! This time, I could make it into an actual Webtoon comic, like my "Sweet Yandere Boy" series! As so, the redesign began!
First things first, Dr. Spiral needed a make-over! As much as it pains me to do this, I can't stick with the old bunny design. It IS very cute, but he DID look exactly like a shiny Spinda. If this becomes a big thing, I do NOT want to get in trouble with the copyright police!!!
But fear not! I kept a lot of elements from his old bunny design! I gave him a cute headband with bunny ears! Fun Fact: "Lapin" is another term for rabbit! He's gotta have the spiraled eyes, that's his namesake! They're much easier to draw now that they're actually eyes. You have NO idea how hard it was to make those pure spirals!!! Of course, I kept his original color palette, the soft yellows and greens, so he's still recognizably Dr. Spiral. He's my green boy!
I think the most drastic change will be his personality. He's kind of a mashup of the OG Dr. Spiral and Gacha (his assistant in the original story) Don't worry, he still has his love of science, just a bit more serious. I want to lean more into the "crazy doctor" side of his personality, which I never really got to in the original comic.
Aaaand that's about it! I know many people liked his old look, (I do too, so I'll probably reference it at some point) but I hope you guys enjoy this new design. I feel like he has more of an identity now, instead of just being my shiny Spinda look-a-like.
