AAC buddies!

Jemma's AAC arrived! She has touchchat, and she loves it. Her speech therapist helped her set it up, and she's ready to start talking!

I made two different versions of my own Barbie AAC. I started by painting a regular Barbie iPad with a mixture of acrylic and mod podge glue.

I'm not sure how well it will stick to the plastic long term, so I made a second one out of hot glue and felt. I used the same parchment paper technique that I used for Madeline's helmet. I like that I was able to give it a proper handle. Once it dries fully, I'll add a strap.

I may or may not have gone on a bit of a Butterfly Pig spree in order to deck out (accessorise) my friend Mouse the cat, so now we have matching medical aids!

I painted her crutches blue and hot glued string to the cuffs as straps, and cut a length of black cord off the back of an apron to give her AAC a strap. If you look closely, you can see that she even uses proloquo2go just like me! I love that her inhaler fits in her tiny pocket! I'm going to die of cute overload! /j

The last picture is of a tiny g-tube button. She's having hers placed the same day I get mine. I'm probably going to end up doing overnight pump feeds rather than daytime bolus feeds, so my reward to myself for getting through the surgery will be a tiny matching feed pump. ❤️
