Custom TFone skywarp
Age of the Primes Nightbird
My most recent custom, Age of the Primes Nightbird! Made using the Legacy Prowl mold. I based this very directly off some art by GhostPotato, which you can check out over on reddit or twitter!
She was done using mostly acrylic paint, alongside tamiya putty for the head and thighs. They were my first time full on sculpting something out of the stuff, so the results are... less than perfect, but I don't think I did too poorly and the results were definitely successful!
And of course it's hardly a Transformer custom without an alt mode shot. I uh... forgot her head in the rear view, but that's because I always do the vehicle mode shots first. I am not perfect when it comes to reducing the size of joints and stuff so some paint scratch is kinda inevitable. I prefer to tidy up the robot mode and leave that on display...
And here she is with my previous Nightbird custom! (Who was done using Cyberverse Arcee). I haven't done a -ton- of customs, it's still in the single digits, but I think the progress I've made and the improvements to my skills should be at least somewhat apparent. I mean, Cyberverse NB's mask is rough lol. Then there's smaller things like minor paint splotches or the lines on areas where I had to paint two colors on one part. I've also improved with things like a wash for the knee caps and wheels (which is just running a little bit of un-thinned paint over an area to sort of stain it part of a color, as opposed to making a solid block of it). It was a really fun project no matter what! Quick, too. Black is really easy to work with, especially when the base figure is already black... The Prowl mold fits well for Nightbird (especially when you get rid of the cargo shorts thighs), and she doesn't get enough love. The fact her last figure (barring ROTB) was in SIEGE is a crime.
Funnily enough, I picked up a Chromia to use for this project, but ended up using my Prowl instead as I liked Chromia way more lmao.
I made dolls of the Vees and gave them to the voice actors!

My custom Nightheart and Sunbeam repaints of the Bonkers mini figures. Sunbeam is a repaint of Silverstream and Nightheart is a repaint of Firestar's head on Greystripe's body.
There are deffinetly things I'll do differently for future repaints. I used gloss varnish first and they were wayyyy too shiney. I do have MSC but its too humid rn to use. So I got matte varnish, but they deffinetly would look better with less coats.
Also i forgot/didn't realize Sunbeam has a "fluffy" tail and I forgot the notch in Nightheart's ear x-x
