Sorry that I haven't been posting much but I was kinda focusing on finishing up some projects and editing...plus life was chaotic.

Chapter 0

Anton the advisor walked in and bowed before asking, “How is the youngest prince my queen?”  Kia responded, “He is well, you haven't asked his name yet.” Anton chided, “It's bad luck to share the name of the child before the naming ceremony, you should remember that. It's been in place for many generations… you wouldn't want to curse the young one to a horrible life now, would you?”  She rolled her eyes and said, “I know but surely it's okay for a few of the closest advisors to know. After all, technically he was named at birth.”  The advisor sighed, “You are the Queen, it is your decision, but it goes against tradition. I fear it would anger the gods.”  “And if I already told another?” She inquired. “Then I fear it would be too late to spare the boy from the many divine eyes,” he warned. She sighed, “Very well then, what's a few more hours anyway?”  Sulking at the fact he hadn't taken the bait. She would need to find a new advisor soon; this one had outlived its usefulness.

Snippet from book two chapter two

Jade meeting Morana for the first time

He blinked a few times as he spotted someone dressed in a skull headdress with eyes darker than the starless night walking towards him. The mark of the ocean moon that was possibly connected to Nimue on her forehead symbolized that she was a shaman and he relaxed a little as most were peaceful—then again, most also had a bone to pick with his family. The thought caused him to tense back up again.

“You have a strange aura around you,” she said while circling him like a shark.

Jade shrugged and backed away, uncomfortable with the way she looked at the air around him. Given his life, he couldn't even hypothesize what she was seeing, as there were a few too many possibilities for him to narrow it down. The energy that surrounded her seemed to be wild and there was a string bigger than the rest—he assumed it was her tether to the gods.

She said, “ohh, my name's Morana, I'm always forgetting the customs.”

Walking off before he could reply, not that he had planned to. He tilted his head at the peculiar interaction.

Snippet from chapter seven of book two (TPCP)

Nimue blinked and said, “I can not hear your thoughts.” She frowned before saying. “You must have spent some time in my father's ranks then, he tends to shroud those who have touched him and walked away.” The man said, “You're forgetting something darling, you're just as bad as your brother sometimes.” Shaking his head he said, “She the goddess of water and swords sorta—I'm her husband Davy Jones, nice ta meet ya.” He blanched as he heard the names and knew gods were standing before him, gods who he had prayed to as a child and they had only gone unanswered. The gods who had forsaken him to his mother! The gods who had allowed Maggie to die. He didn't trust them at all, the gods hadn't interfered for him, so why should he aid them with anything now? Nimue said, “I can remove the collar around your neck if you agree to take this.” That was the last straw for his temper. It felt as though he was boiling inside, his rage had steeped long enough in its brewing. He glared at the goddess and without much thought involved as he didn't care if he died for the blasphemy; he was not even scared of the pain that would surely come from yelling. He stated vehemently, “I will not help you with anything!! Why should I? I prayed the first several years of my life to any fucking god that would listen!! And what good did that do me? None.” He took a deep breath and continued “I care not for the gods who cared not for me, I don't care!” This was the first time he had snapped in years and if it hadn't been at a goddess he may have been proud of himself.

First: I would like to thank everyone who had been tagging me recently. I have had a persistent cold for the last two weeks and I'm finally feeling up to catching up somewhat.

All are clips from the zero draft of TPCP the second book to TPCG series and are subject to change

Out of context line: Chapter 22: Galen POV

When they got to the deck Daimhín and Oisìn were waiting like the misbehaving vultures that they were.

First line: Chapter 0.5

His eyes lingered as the younger man set the tray down just outside of their reach and scooted it with his foot.

Last line (from that chapter) : Chapter 0.5

He released it—half surprised when the man continued to run with them.

7 sentence: Chapter 16: Jade's POV

He was sitting on the deck in silence with Oisìn and Silent Jack who had insisted he see the sunlight for a while. His eyes felt cooked within a few minutes; he hadn't had a lot of sun exposure over the years. He wondered if it was this ungodly bright to everyone else and why they loved it if it was. He didn't see why anyone would like a nearly blinding light that reflected off of metal the way that it did. He did enjoy the feeling of heat soaking into his bones that was not from a blanket though. It felt almost like a warm hug. It almost felt safe.

Writing share: Chapter 11: Jade's pov

The whole setup screamed that they had power and were not afraid to use it. If he had not seen the spirit queen Castle on one occasion, he would have thought the Merfolk would rival them. But he knew better than most that no one but perhaps the gods would rival the high fae Queen, Rhiannon, especially on her home territory. He was skeptical that the gods cared about any of them. He was certain there was a game of sorts afoot and they were just the unfortunate pawns.

Chapter 20: Galen's pov

He wasn't very surprised when Mr Dovan drew his pistol.

He snapped, “thats not a wise idea. You think we came here without backup?” very few business dealings were done without one or two guns-men hidden amongst the buildings or crates and this was not one of them. Especially not with the Tarak fleet visiting the docks frequently in search of pirates and those who dealt with them. His hand not even reaching for the pistol on his hip as he knew that Taz and Silent Jack had theirs trained on the man who had brass balls but no intelligence to use them with, as pointing a gun at them was not going to help him make a business arrangement.

The man laughed and said, “If that was true I'd already be dead.”

Daimhín raised an eyebrow and said “You already are.”

As the gun went off behind them Galen snorted, “You just didn't know it.”

For the WIP word guessing tag:

Salmon.

It was the first word I thought of, don’t ask why.

Thank you for the ask @paeliae-occasionally.

It was actually added to the chapter I had been working on just before posting the game so I find that funny. (Technically still on that chapter lol)

The jumping salmon were landing on the deck before flopping back off, in an effort to avoid the massacre happening within the waves, caused by the feeding frenzy of the sirens.
