Thinkin about my trans prince story again today.... nice to take it off the backburner once in a while and give it a stir. Add some seasoning
#wastepaper basket#I realised that the only way I could write a western fantasy type setting is if it's deeply anti monarchist and anti colonialist#Which not like that hasn't been done before but like I have some ideas about the intersection of divine right and meritocracy#And what it means to abdicate privilege instead of working to deconstruct the system that gave you it in the first place#I feel like a lot of the newer western fantasy stuff I see just makes the nobility more diverse instead of deconstructing what the existenc#of a noble class Means in the setting. & as I say definitely not the first person to bring this up & that kind of thing has its place anywa#But I'd like to try my hand at it still.
